Prizes The winning teams of the semifinal screening

based on electronic submission of 2-3-page executive summary will be invited to participate at the semifinals in Sofia, October 6, 2006 with all expenses covered.

Each participating country will have two selected teams at the semifinals in Sofia.

First prize USD20,000 Second prize: USD10,000.

* While the scope of technology innovation is not restricted tothe above, plans without a strong technology focus may notbe chosen to compete.

Eligible teams1. Teams are typically of 3-4 people

2. Nationality of any of the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Turkey

3. At least one team member currently pursuing undergraduate, graduate or PhD degree (the rest of could be: faculty members, entrepreneurs, businessmen)

4. Company to be established in one of the participating countries

Jury Jury members are notable venture

capitalists and other industry and entrepreneurship experts.

Jury is selected based on the following criteria:• Relevant professional experience (business, consulting and entrepreneurial)• Field of expertise (investors, entrepreneurs, lawyers)• Geographical location

Confidentiality The authors of the business plan will retain

all rights to the plan regarding its use at all times prior to and following the competition.

All judges and administrative staff will agree on non-disclosure of materials submitted by competition participants.

All materials will be destroyed after competition is completed, unless specific agreement is granted.

Calendar 14 August deadline for e-round: submission of

executive summaries 14 July - 16 Aug feedback and consultation

on submitted executive summaries 21 August announcement of e-round winners

and invite semi-finalists to Sofia (two teams of each participating country)

21 September deadline for full business plans submission

6 October semifinal in Sofia with presentations, announce winners and invite to USA

24 October world final – 2 teams go to Berkeley, California

Application procedure Executive summaries round – August 14, 2006 The jury will evaluate and select two teams from each

participating country and invite them to semifinals in Sofia, October 6, 2006 with all costs for travel and accommodation covered.

Semifinal round - September 21, 2006

Competition in Sofia - October 6, 2006 Teams will make powerpoint presentations in front of jury,

guests and open audience.

Jury will pick the two winning teams which will receive USD20,000USD20,000 and USD10,000USD10,000 respectively and will be invited to the finals in Berkeley, USA, with all travel and accommodation costs covered.
