Observed World Day against Child Labour

The District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA), Sonitpur in collaborationwith an NGO named and styled - Fernando Domestic Workers Associationobserved ‘World Day against Child Labour’ on 12th June, 2018. A Solidaritywalkathon/rally and an awareness meeting at the Lok Adalat Hall-cum-Conference hall, DLSA, Sonitpur, Tezpur were organised to mark theobservance.

Smt. M.C. Bordoloi, Secretary DLSA, Sonitpur, Tezpur flagged off the"walkthon" which went through entire Tezpur town.

The awareness meeting was presided over by Smt. M.C. Bordoloi, theSecretary DLSA, Sonitpur, Tezpur. She emphasized the need to educate childrento prevent child labour.

Earlier, Chandika Singha outlined the objective of the meeting and thesolidarity march/walkathon. Sri Nayanmoni Goswami, Panel Lawyer, DLSA,Sonitpur, Tezpur highlighted the salient features of the child labour Prohibition& Regulation Act 2016 and Smt. Abha Bora, Panel Lawyer, DLSA, Sonitpur,Tezpur, also spoke on the role of Child Welfare Committees in giving a life ofcare and dignity to the child labours after their rescue.
