Contemporary Issues - We are studying the book, The First Paul: Reclaiming the Radical Visionary Behind the Church’s Conservative Icon for the next 8 weeks. The discussion will be led by Shannon Buzard. Class meets at 10:30 a.m. in the Adult Room.

United Methodist Women - The Greeting Card Circle meets on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 112, creating beautiful, recycled, painted and wildflower cards. The Evening Circle will also meet on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Diane Roberson. Women’s Retreat - Mark your calendars for January 29, 2011 and plan to attend this upcoming event. The retreat will be held at the same location as last year at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale. More information will be coming!
“Connections” is a Dayspring mission that advocates for the intrinsic worth of all persons, regardless of their sexual orientation. It offers support to and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their families. It also hosts the Tempe PFLAG group meeting each first Friday of the month. Our clergy can provide the names of “Connections” members for you to contact.
Koinonikos Schedule - The next deadline date for the newsletter is November 15, and will include events in the month of December.
Annual Fall Food DriveThe Fall Food Drive will be held Sunday, Nov. 21. Empty Grocery bags will be distributed on Nov. 7 and 14. We will have a refrigerated truck available for TURKEYS! Please return your “full” bags and frozen turkeys on Thanksgiving Sunday, Nov. 21, when the food will be blessed following each worship service. Donations will provide help to the United Food Bank in Mesa.
