THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER PASTOR’S ARTICLE
Pastor Francis L. Schroeder Holy Cross Lutheran—Nederland
THANKFUL HEARTS
What an exciting opportunity you and I have to embrace this Thanksgiving season with the right heart attitude.
Begin by thanking God for everything that you are and have. Thank Him for every breath you breathe in today, and practice the attitude of gratitude. Make a list of 100 of the people and/or things that you are thankful for, and give God your honor and worship. Make it a habit this week to let God know just how aware you are of His grace and mercy.
Muscles strengthen with use. Develop your gratitude muscle by being appreciative the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night before you go to bed until Thanksgiving. The pas-sage below is a significant key to living the abundant life that Jesus paid for. Saying "thank you," not only opens doors with God, His presence and abundance, but it works with people too. Life is too amazing and too short to only be grateful one day of the year.
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." —Ps. 100:4-5
Every day is a choice. You have to choose to be thankful. You choose whether or not you are going to take time out of your busy day and recognize where all of your blessing and salvation comes from. Thankfulness is an art form that must be disciplined and practiced in order for you to become a master of it. (Shared from a fellow pastor, Paul Bryan)
May the Lord bring us thankful hearts, always! Pastor Francis L. Schroeder

Adult Fellowship Christmas Party Sunday, December 4 @5:30pm-8:30pm
La Cantina Mexican Grill Patio 7960 Memorial Blvd - Port Arthur
Whether you've been every year or you've never been at all, whether
you just turned 18 or your 78, we want to encourage you to join us! Our Adult Fellowship Christmas Party is a special event for Adults (18 years
old or older). The evening is filled with Christmas fun, fellowship and great food! If you wish (not required), bring a $15-$20 gift for Chinese Auction Gift Exchange following dinner. Men bring a gift for men and
women bring a gift for women.
Do you need a babysitter? If you need a babysitter for your children we will provide that service for you (but we need to know a minimum of a
week in advance if you need a babysitter). We just want you to join us.
We've made reservations for so we want you and yours to be there. It is a wonderful opportunity to just "be" still for a moment before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, laugh (a lot) and there is really no greater way to meet new people from church, catch up with old buddies or just simply enjoy great food and have a great time than by
attending this event! Fun, fun, times!
Don't have the money to attend? Please know that you DO NOT need to bring a gift, and if you would rather just join us for fellowship then go for it. I
(DCE Kristy) have been numerous times when I didn't bring a gift and/or I didn't eat dinner. It is truly okay for you to just join us for fellowship and enjoy everyone's amazing company!
How do you get tickets?
Tickets are NOT required. We have made reservations and you simply show up. We would love to have an idea of how many people are planning to be there, though, so please sign the clipboard during worship and/or reply to this article
if you plan to attend. (That would be super helpful!)
What do I wear? Wear what you would wear to church. Some people like to dress up, but you are welcome to dress casual.
What if I am not a member of Holy Cross?
You do not need to be a member of Holy Cross to attend this event or to attend any event at Holy Cross. Christ died for all, so All are invited to this party.
Questions or need a babysitter, Contact Erin & David Prioux –(748-0020)
