Alexander | Carrillo Consulting, LLC is a full-‐service consulting firm specializing in non-‐profit organizational development and fundraising. Based in Tucson and founded in 2010 by partners Laura Alexander and Jenny Carrillo, the firm is the result of the merger of their individual consulting practices. Laura and Jenny are the owners, principal consultants and sole employees, overseeing every aspect of the firms work. In addition, they have assembled a team of local experts and resources upon which to
draw as needed, including prospect research, graphic design, event planning, grant writing, financial management, print production and mailing, and marketing. Services include organizational development and strategic planning; board development and training; general fund development assessment, planning and implementation; capital campaign planning and oversight; ‘major’ and planned giving program development; CEO and Development staff coaching and other projects as requested.

Local Experience: We have worked with over 100 local organizations throughout Southern Arizona and surrounding rural communities. We have a deep understanding of the unique cultural, philanthropic and economic environment impacting our non-‐profit organizations.
Sector Experience: We have experience working across a diverse range of sectors including social services, public & private education, arts & culture, conservation & environment, animal welfare and business. We believe you are the experts in your unique area of service, and we can help you do your good work, better.
Organizational Development Experience: We believe that effective fundraising doesn’t happen in a vacuum and have worked with numerous organizations to help them strengthen their organizational capacity through strategic planning, board development and governance, and leadership development. We are skilled facilitators and trainers, have developed curricula for multiple trainings and workshops, and have facilitated numerous group processes for strategic dialogue, decision-‐making, and plan development in challenging situations.
Fundraising Experience: Together we have raised over $20M for our clients, including major and planned gift solicitations; foundation and government grant writing, special events, and direct mail and social media appeals.

Our Team Laura Alexander, MAPD, is the co-‐founder of Alexander | Carrillo Consulting. A leader in the nonprofit sector since 1988, Laura has demonstrated a long-‐term commitment to the success of the nonprofit sector as a consultant, executive director, development director, program director, board member and volunteer.
Prior to founding her own firm, Laura Alexander served as the Executive Director of the Birth & Women’s Health Center, which she successfully shepherded from a failing for-‐profit medical practice to a thriving community-‐based clinic as part of the El Rio Community Health Center family. She also served as the Development Director at the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona, and as the Executive Director of Domestic Abuse
Intervention Services in Madison, WI. With a strong background as both a nonprofit CEO and a Development Director, Laura
brings a unique perspective on what it takes for a nonprofit to be successful in today’s world. Laura holds a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy & Development from St. Mary’s
University of Minnesota. She is an active member of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and was recognized as their 2012 Outstanding Fundraising Professional.
Jenny Carrillo, MA, CFRE is partner with Laura Alexander in their firm Alexander | Carrillo Consulting. Working as a consultant to non-‐profit organizations since 2003, Jenny has earned an outstanding reputation for providing excellent counsel to improve nonprofits’ performance in the key areas of fund development, strategic planning, and board development.
Prior to her work as a consultant, Jenny served as Director of Development for Arizona’s Children Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson, Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation and the Shanti Foundation, as well as positions with Up with People [Denver, CO] and Youth Service America [Washington, DC].
Jenny holds a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy & Development through St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. She achieved the professional credential of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) by demonstrating proficiency of professional practice, performance, education, service and a commitment to ethical fundraising. She has served as President of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and was recognized as their Outstanding Fundraising Professional in 2006. Jenny also serves on the faculty of the Arizona State University Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation.
