LENTEN GUIDELINES
FASTING is observed by all 18 years of age or older , who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals sufficient to maintain strength may be taken according to each ones needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices are allowed.
ABSTINENCE is observed by all 14 years of age and older on Good Friday and Friday’s during Lent. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fasting and abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted.
FASTING, ALMSGIVING AND PRAYER are three traditional disciplines of Lent. The faithful should undertake these practice seriously in a spirit of penance and the renewal of baptism at Easter.
MEMORIAL GUILD
Edward Barry and Thomas English have been enrolled in Our Lady’s Memorial Guild. May Edward and Thomas know the peace and joy of our Heavenly kingdom and may their souls rest in peace.

2019 CATHOLIC APPEAL
Last weekend, Our Lady’s Parish began its part in taking important steps to help enrich ministries and programs through this Catholic Appeal. From Catholic Education to Addiction Recover Services, more than 50 critical ministries enrich
parish life and the lives of those who turn to the Church for assistance. Many of you have already given and for that we thank you. Thank you to those who responded last weekend with our in-pew collection. If you have not yet given, envelopes can be found at the ends of the pews OR on the tables around the church. The goal assessed for our parish is $47,359. Your generous contributions not only matter to the appeal, but in the end, also helps OUR LADY’S PARISH, as we are responsible to pay the difference not raised. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity to help serve our wider church community.
LENTEN ROSARY AND DIVINE MERCY
During Lent, there will be morning Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet after the 8:00am daily Mass. The Rosary will begin approximately five minutes after the daily Mass ends. There will then be a five minute quiet prayer time before the Divine Mercy Chaplet begins. Please make note that on April 12, Fr. DiPerri has conferences with the school children so the Rosary will begin once all of the children have exited the church, unless there is a funeral that is scheduled.
SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT: Luke’s account of the Transfiguration is rich with meaning. Peter recognizes this special moment with Jesus: “Master, it is good that we are here.” We don’t have to go up the mountain to be with Jesus. We can say those very words of Peter every day when we are united with Jesus through sacraments and daily prayer. Listen to what God says, not just to the Apostles that were on that mountain, but to each of us: “This is my chosen Son, listen to Him.” Pray in a special way this Lent to hear Jesus’ voice and pray particularly for the courage to share your faith with others. Introduce a friend to Jesus.
CENACLE OF DIVINE MERCY
The Cenacle of the Divine Mercy will meet on Wednesday, March 27 in the room across from the Parish Office. Please enter the building via the Parish entrance using the driveway located behind the school.
RCIA
Help bring to the Light to those who no longer want to walk in darkness. Invite those who have never been baptized or who have been baptized in a non-Catholic Christian tradition, as well as adult Catholics who have not been confirmed, to the inquiry sessions. We meet every Sunday after the 9:00am Mass in the conference room of the school. If you have any questions or for more information, contact Sharon in the parish office and she will have one of our RCIA team members reach out to you.
MUSIC MINISTRY NEWS – PATRICK BOTTI This Lenten season, you will notice some changes in our music. The first change you will notice is that we will be using a new Mass setting. It was an honor and a privilege for me to have the opportunity to compose this new Mass for Our Lady’s Parish. I hope it enriches our Lenten liturgies. The Mass is called “Mass of Hope”. We will sing the Gloria from this Mass starting at our Easter Vigil Liturgy. However, the Lamb of God used during Lent will not be from this new Mass. Instead, we will be singing the traditional Agnus Dei (Lamb of God in Latin). Our Communion song will use the refrain “Take Me, O Take Me as I Am” from the Iona Community in England. It is very easy to remember. In keeping with the Lenten tradition at Our Lady’s Parish, the adult choir will be singing a different Ave Verum or Tantum Ergo every week. Those are from major composers such as Mozart, Gounod, Saint Saens and others. The Youth Choir will change some of its repertoire for Lent as well.

RITE OF ELECTION
Congratulations to RCIA Candidate Jaye Hughes who received Eucharist and Confirmation at Immaculate Conception in Malden with Cardinal Seán O’Malley on March 10. Pictured to the right is Jaye and her finacé, Sean along with RCIA team member Iona Pasqual.
THE MOVIE ‘UNPLANNED—THE ABBY JOHNSON STORY”
This movie is playing in Marlboro at the Regal Solomon Pond Stadium 15 starting Friday, March 29-April 4. Show times are 12:30, 3:10, 6:10 and 9:10. “Unplanned” unfolds a fascinating transformation in the life of Abby Johnson, examining her journey from Planned Parenthood clinic director to becoming a leading advocate for life and women in crisis. Unplanned reveals the challenges confronting Abby as she walked away from her job at a key Texas Planned Parenthood clinic and walked into the Coalition for Life office down the street. The film unveils that this incredible turning point was preceded by years of misguided hopes, searching - and a moment of pure awakening. Abby recounts her journey as an idealistic and impressionable college student that led to her position as a director of a Planned Parenthood clinic. She describes the dramatic moments in that clinic that changed her life forever and set her on a new path.
STRATEGIES FOR YOUTH EVANGELIZATION

FOLLOW UP MESSAGE FROM SEMINARIAN NICK ZRALLACK
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Nicholas Zrallack and I have been here with your parish community since September and will remain for three hours each week for the remainder of this academic year. I currently share Eucharistic Adoration with Seminarian Joe Hubbard on Monday evenings during Lent in St. Joseph Chapel of the school. I am here on different days, not only on weekends, so that I continue to learn from all that your very vibrant parish and school community have to offer. I am the middle of seven children and my hometown is Fort Pierce, Florida, part of the Palm Beach Diocese. All of my siblings still live close to home. Prior to entering the seminary, I worked for 18 years in the public school system in many different roles. My favorite being an elementary special education teacher. I am happy to share with you that I will be ordained a Deacon on April 6. Please keep me in your prayers and I will continue to keep you in mine.
