Slide 3
PaTTANs Mission The mission of the Pennsylvania Training and
Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) is to support the efforts and
initiatives of the Bureau of Special Education, and to build the
capacity of local educational agencies to serve students who
receive special education services.

PDEs Commitment to Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) Our goal
for each child is to ensure Individualized Education Program (IEP)
teams begin with the general education setting with the use of
Supplementary Aids and Services before considering a more
restrictive environment.

Over the last two years, PaTTAN has developed and delivered a
Professional Learning Community structure for school administrators
to increase their knowledge and skills about co-teaching. For the
2015-16 school year, we are seeking to identify IU TaCs to
replicate this PLC approach to professional development for
Administrators from their member school districts.

PaTTAN will provide the following to support IUs that replicate the
PLC. A complete package of training materials, including
presentation slides with detailed trainer notes; supporting
materials and facilitator overview; and customizable recruitment
flyer Technical supports from PaTTAN, as requested (e.g., more
detailed review of content; collaborative facilitation of the PLC
session(s) by PaTTAN consultant with IU TaC, etc.)

PaTTAN will also provide an optional competitive performance grant
for IUs replicating the PLC. The IU has the option to form a
consortium with participating PLC members sites for the purpose of
applying for a competitive mini-grant. The competitive mini-grant
awards can be used to offset costs associated with participation in
the PLC; but, will require the implementation of a pre-defined
action research project.

a brief survey indicating the IUs preliminary intent to replicate
the Co-Teaching PLC. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HWCQNV6
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HWCQNV6 Information provided by the
