WHAT DOES THIS SCREENING SHOW?

This screening looks for 3 primary causes of stroke andvascular disease:

• Diminished blood flow in your peripheral arteries• Buildup of fatty plaque in your carotid arteries• Weakening and enlargement of the abdominal arteries

Often conditions in these areas have no noticeablesymptoms; early detection is key to preventing a strokeor vascular disease – and could ultimately save your life.

WHO SHOULD GET THE SCREENING?

Screenings are appropriate for people over age 50 withthese risk factors:

• Family history of stroke• Smoker• High LDL cholesterol and/or low HDL cholesterol• High blood pressure• Overweight

You are also a candidate if you’ve had a Coronary ArteryCalcium CT score of 100 or more, or if you are age 70+.
