ately, if you have not already done so.
Representatives from the US Army Reserve will be outside the Student Center between 10am - 1pm
on the following Wednesdays to talk with interested students: May 25, June 22 and July 27. If you

Piedmont Technical College
OTA Program Update:
The OTA Program at Piedmont Technical College has received the American Occupa-
tional Therapy Association (AOTA) Gold Level for Student Membership. AOTA is fully
committed to the success of our profession and reaching the 2017 Centennial Vision
goals. AOTA support the students sitting in our OTA/OT classrooms today as the fu-
ture of the OT professions success, and will live with and carry out the Vision. As our
students prepare for their careers and strive to reach their personal goals, it is important
that they understand and value the participation and support of being an AOTA mem-
ber.
AOTA’s Student Membership Circle is a 3-tier plan that supports academic program
student membership initiatives— Gold Level, Silver Level, and Bronze Level.
Piedmont Technical College OTA program and Medical University of South Carolina
were the only two programs out of the 6 programs (5-OTA/ 1- OT programs) in our
state that received this award. The OTA program was recognized at the National AO-
TA Conference this past April 7-9, 2016 in Chicago, IL.

OTA program will start the second OTA Cohort on May 18, 2016.
Applications for the next OTA Cohort will open on September 1, 2016
OTA program will hold an informational session (30 students max) on July 15and No-
vember 11, 2016 at the Newberry Campus in room 238NN. The informational session
will provide potential OTA students with a clear overview of “What is Occupational
Therapy?”, “Where are OTA’s employed?”, coursework, and other requirements needed
prior to applying.
