• El margen continental argentino es de 3.000.000km2
• Históricamente se han perforado alrededor de 173 pozos exploratorios offshore:
1969 - 1979: 23% 1980 - 1989: 48%1990 - 1999: 26% 2000 - 2010: 1%
• El 60% de estos pozos fueron perforadossolo en la cuenca Austral.
• Tomando en cuenta la gran extensión delmargen continental marítimo, se ve una baja
exploración offshore.

• Consideraciones geológicas: regiones geológicas inexploradas, incertidumbre.
• Consideraciones medioambientales: fuerte sensibilidad ambiental en mares del
Sur.
