Mostly Self taught on our 1st CNC. I have learned how to work this machine, instead of the machine working me.

Taught others to work the machine
Saw and Water Jet Combo, during my days at Capitol Granite we had 2 different saws from Park Industries, the Sierra and the Yukon. And a separate water-jet. I am however highly skilled to cut the stone with the graina nd pushed the operators to do the same. So when there is a 90 degree corner the grain matches. In addition, when I would cut the stone the backsplash too would match the tops.
Capitol started with Paul and I. Paul is the owner. I took on various roles as we grew, typically jobs that no one would take, one of these jobs was to care for the growing slab yard, stone is money, others have tried to keep inventory of slabs as not to stall production but, I was the first to keep accurate accounting of all of our slabs and remnants. And knew when we were out of slabs even when slabs were in stock.
Capitol Granite being built while we are still in the small rental shop
To save money: We did all of the electrical
ourselves in the shop area Ran all the plumbing for the
fresh water, created our own waste water recycle system.
Installed and ran piping for all of the air stations.
Set-up of all the machines that were not new.
