ExemptionsIf you have completed similar courses in previous study, at an undergraduate level you may be eligible for EXEMPTION/S from core courses.
To receive an exemption you must apply using the form located at:
http://www.uq.edu.au/myadvisor/forms-online
You should supply the course outline from when you completed the course/s at the time of application.
For a course to be considered comparable and eligible for Credit/Exemption, there must be a 70% similarity in content to the current Economics Postgraduate course that it is being compared.
Receiving exemptions does not reduce the number of units you must complete. You should replace any core/compulsory courses you are given exemptions for with an elective choice.

CreditIf you have completed similar courses at another institution at a Postgraduate level, you may be eligible for CREDIT.
To receive credit you must apply using the form located at:
http://www.uq.edu.au/myadvisor/forms-online
At the time you submit the application form you should also submit the course outline from when you studied the course/s.
Receiving Credit reduces the number of units you must complete to meet the requirements of your degree. You do not need to replace the courses that you are awarded credit for.

Study PlansSample study plans are available on the School of Economics website at
http://www.uq.edu.au/economics/study-plans
If you would like to discuss your study plan with an administrative officer, please email [email protected] to make an appointment. Please outline the reason for your interview in your email.
It is particularly important to plan your study if you are on an articulation plan or considering changing programs and/or early exit from a suite of programs.
International Students should enrol in 4 courses (#8) per semester unless you have an alternative study plan approved, which may include Summer Semester courses, to enable completion within the normal duration.

Pre-requisites= The course(s) that must have been previously passed to be
able to enrol in a particular course.
A prerequisite course provides the appropriate foundation knowledge in order to progress to the next course. It is the students responsibility to ensure they have completed required prerequisites when enrolling. Once you are enrolled in a course there is an expectation that you will have successfully completed all pre-requisites and have the assumed level of knowledge to successfully proceed. Any pre-requisites will be listed via the Programs & Courses website.
Most study plans will suggest that in your first semester of study that ECON7010, ECON7020 and ECON7300 be studied as these provide the building blocks for most other Economics courses.
