• Reducing of waste of resources by 10%
• Reducing paper consumption by 50%

Do the PM disciplines support such Projects ? (3/2) How will I... ?
- How to measure if I will achieve ALL my objectives ?
- How to measure the impacts on long- term of the projet deliverables ?
- Are the environment impacts of Management considered ?
- How to define priorities beside Time/Budget/Scope/Planet (/People) ?
- Are any PM teams skillable in any eco-design ?
- Even with scope changes, will I pursue my green efforts to achieve the objectives ?
Classical PM approaches may be too short...

Green Project Management – a tentative of definitions about « 2 in 1 »
It is an extension of Project Management
- aiming to produce project deliverables that suits environmental objectives ;
- But also how it is managed (contribute to) reduce the environmental impacts ;

21
How to start ? - during initiation
- Ensure sponsorship of the initiative of greening your projects
- Assign to a PM with green-mindset & ready to try
- Translate green corporate objectives in the project
- Consider in Business Case these project-environmental objectives (direct and indirect ones)
22
How to start ? - during planning
- Plan the project activities (incl. your environmental activities) fairly & realisticly
- Plan how you will monitor the project
– by being green (teleconf ? Homeworking?)
– By avoiding waste and rework
– By planning carefully scare resources
- Gather information needs (incl. Environmental ones)
23
How to start ? - during execution
- Apply « management by example »/ »walk the talk » principles
- Monitor & control the project based on green techniques & philosophy
- Collect metrics related on objectives (incl. Environmental ones) and provide them to « project direction layer »
- Take care that change requests do not jeopardise the green objectives
24
How to start ? - during closing
- Share lessons learned
- Assess whether the objectives are achieved
- plan to do later (when project is some time closed) review of objectives

And how was your experience for this first Green Project ?
- Need to manage the cleantech
- by Project Management
- but with some improved approaches ;
- The green approaches
- impact most of PM disciplines ;
- will apply during the whole PM life cycle
- The journey starts... You are welcome in joining...
