CINERGIA’s Grid Emulators are AC programmable power supplies specially designed to create AC grids and emulate its disturbances. Test proles can be automatically executed by creating a csv le. Thanks to its bidirectional power hardware, the test energy can be regenerated to the electrical grid. This feature is needed to test Distributed Energy Resources (DER) or generators, where the Equipment Under Test can generate, consume or store energy.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
It generates dierent AC grid systems:-Three-phase system (3F+N) up to 480Vrms line-line-Single-phase system (F+N) up to 277Vrms line-neutral-Congurable frequency from 10 to 400Hz-Congurable phase angle-Congurable internal resistance
It creates grid disturbances:-Voltage harmonics up to 780Hz (except 10, 12 and 14th) -Flicker -Over and Undervoltage-Interruptions-Symetric and unsymetric voltage dips (types A, B, C, D).-Frequency uctuations.
All disturbances can be congured in amplitude, duration and repetition time.

CINERGIA’s Programmable DC Power Supplies are power electronics equipment designed to generate a DC constant voltage, current or power. Thanks to its bidirectional hardware the DCPS can source or sink the test energy while the grid-tied converter will actively regenerate the energy back to the electrical grid consuming a sinusoidal current with unity power factor and low harmonic distortion.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Operation modes:-Constant Voltage (CV)-Constant Current (CC)-Constant Power (CP)-Automatic test from Excel le
It provides three DC channels:-The three channels can be controlled independently, allowing dierent voltage, current or power setpoints-The three channels can be controlled in parallel, sharing the same setpoint and providing 3 times the current-In Unipolar 2Q applications, the loads will be connected between one channels and the common negative. -In Bipolar 4Q applications, the loads will be connected between two channels

DC Electronic Loads are devices that behave as a load and are designed to test electric and electronic DC sources. While most electronic loads are dissipative, CINERGIA oers a com-prehensive range of DC, AC and AC&DC regenerative electronic loads producing signicant energy savings, optimizing the electrical and cooling installation and reducing test costs.

CINERGIA’s Bidirectional Battery Chargers are Programmable DC Power Supplies designed specically to charge and discharge batteries or other storage systems. Based on the DCPS hardware and rmware, the B2C add a IU Battery Charge mode to the Volta-ge, Current, Power and Resistance modes. The equipment is regenerative so the energy discharged from the battery will be injected back to the electrical grid.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Operation modes:-Battery Charge (BC) -Constant Voltage (CV)-Constant Current (CC) -Constant Power (CP)-Constant Resistance (CR) -Automatic test from Excel le
It provides three DC channels:-The three channels can be controlled independently, allowing dierent charge parameters, voltage, current or power setpoints-The three channels can be controlled in parallel, sharing the same setpoint and providing 3 times the current
Battery charge is controlled with an IU algorithm. Equaliza-tion, Boost and Float charge are possible. Battery discharge can be done at constant current, power, resistance or by programming a sequence in an Excel le.

A Battery Emulator is a power electronics equipment that behaves as a real battery pack. CINERGIA’s BE is based on a regenerative power DC supply. When emulating a battery charge, the energy will be injected back to the electrical grid consuming a sinusoidal cu-rrent with unity power factor and low harmonic distortion. Using a BE will save space in the laboratory, avoiding safety issues of real batteries and allow a high exibility in the tests.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Operation modes:-Constant Voltage (CV)-Static-Dynamic
Three DC channels:-The three channels can be controlled independently, allowing dierent battery emulation-The three channels can be controlled in parallel, emulating the same battery and providing 3 times the current
Static mode: the emulated battery voltage will depend on the open-circuit voltage and internal charge and discharge resistances.
Dynamic mode: the emulated battery voltage will depend, additionally, on the SOC and the rate of discharge.

AC Input is connected to the grid (neutral connection or isolation transformer is required)AC Output is connected to the Equipment Under Test (EUT) and can be used as AC or DC output. The loads or EUT are connected between a phase and:- AC mode: the output neutral- DC mode: the common (COM) negative pointThe AC or DC mode is selected by software.
BACK-TO-BACK TOPOLOGY
The converter is formed by a grid-side Active Rectier and an output Inverter sharing a DC-link. The Active Rectier allows sinusoidal current consumption with low harmonic distortion and unity power factor. Depending on the main mode, the output converter can work either as an AC inverter or a DCDC converter.
