ATR VERDICT: Both heart and head say that 12-year-old FAUGHEEN can emerge triumphant, which would take the roof off the Cheltenham Grandstand. A dual Festival winner already, and adecent third in last year's Stayers' Hurdle, the buzz of this meeting clearly brings out the best in himand he arrives in tip-top form. It has proved a very shrewd move by Willie Mullins to switch the son ofGermany to fences this term, winning all three starts including two at Grade 1 level, and with the crowdsure to be behind him once more, he could power up the hill to record a famous victory. Although at amuch earlier stage in his racing career, Itchy Feet also boasts solid course form and is unbeaten overthe larger obstacles. He is likely to run a big race, while Midnight Shadow, second behind the last-named at Sandown latest and a dual track scorer, might go well at longer odds. Top Tip: FAUGHEEN (2) Watch out for: ITCHY FEET (3)

ATR VERDICT: Sire Du Berlais is 7lb higher than when winning this race 12 months ago, but histhree outings so far this season have all been to a decent standard and the application of first-timeblinkers could potentially eke out some improvement. However, a chance is taken on another JPMcManus-owned runner in the shape of A GREAT VIEW. He was a big eye-catcher when flying hometo finish sixth in this contest two years ago and posted another cracking effort at the PunchestownFestival one month later, landing a similarly competitive handicap. Denis Cullen's nine-year-oldproduced his best performance since when third in a qualifier last time and, with this likely to havebeen the plan for a while, he can run a big race under Mark Walsh. Jatiluwih won impressively here inNovember and could well reverse Wincanton form with Third Wind, while 2018 Champion Bumperscorer Relegate and Gordon Elliott's The Storyteller are just a couple more with claims in a wide-openrenewal. Top Tip: A GREAT VIEW (6) Watch out for: SIRE DU BERLAIS (1)

ATR VERDICT: Frodon was one of the stories of last year's Festival when ending an excellentseason with a gutsy display to fend off Aso in this race. However, this campaign hasn't exactly gone toplan for the eight-year-old, with disappointing efforts in the Old Roan and the Betfair Chase, anddespite winning at Kempton last time, he faces a much bigger task in defence of his crown. Min hasplaced at two Festivals when chasing home Altior in both the 2016 Supreme and the 2018 ChampionChase, and this appears to be his best chance to add a Cheltenham success to his CV. A replication ofhis stunning display in last year's Melling Chase at Aintree would make him the one to beat, but WillieMullins' chaser has a big performance at the Dublin Racing Festival to back up, when second toChacun Pour Soi, and A PLUS TARD could be the chief beneficiary. A runaway winner of the novicehandicap at last year's meeting, scoring by 16 lengths, the six-year-old built on his return at Navan tobeat the aforementioned Chacun Pour Soi at Christmas and it may be a blessing in disguise thatconnections ruled him out of the rematch last month. Riders Onthe Storm has been one of the bigimprovers this campaign, going unbeaten in three starts for Nigel Twiston-Davies, but he had a toughrace when landing the Ascot Chase, where he was arguably a fortunate winner, so preference for theminor honours goes to Saint Calvados, who has produced two fantastic efforts off big weights inhandicaps at the course this season. ATR VERDICT: PAISLEY PARK arrives to defend his title on the back of a quieter campaignfollowing successes at both Newbury and over C&D on Trials Day, and the eight-year-old, unbeaten inhis last seven outings since October 2018, has the style of racing that suits a top-class staying hurdler. He showed his tactical versatility on his latest start, due to Summerville Boy going a steady pace infront, and Emma Lavelle's star performer can prove a cut above the opposition yet again. Theaforementioned Summerville Boy is likely to adopt similar tactics to last time and although this formerFestival winner remains unexposed as a stayer, his jumping, which has been an issue in the past, willneed to stand up against stronger opponents. With that in mind, the pair that could chase home theselection are 2018 hero Penhill, who has been brought along steadily with one race in mind, and lastyear's Ballymore winner City Island, who could prove a lot happier back over hurdles following his twochase starts in Ireland. ATR VERDICT: Simply The Betts is probably a worthy favourite for this after proving successful inthree of his last four starts, including when accounting for a nice yardstick in the shape of Imperial Auraover C&D earlier in the year. A 9lb rise for that recent win looks fair and a likely prominent ride underGavin Sheehan should see him involved at the finish. The odds compilers are taking no chances withhis price, though, and the suspicion is that better value lies elsewhere. Deyrann de Carjac has been abit of a 'talking horse' at the Cheltenham preview nights and it is easy to see why looking at his recentform, which includes a six-and-a-quarter-length third behind Champ and two-length third in the Dipperbehind Midnight Shadow. Robin Des Foret always travels stylishly and it is worth noting that he hashad a wind operation but, at a price, preference is for SPRINGTOWN LAKE. A prominent ride oftensuits in this event, which he should get here, and this eight-year-old has a bit of past Festival form, having finished fifth in the Novices' Handicap in 2019. The eight-year-old was an easy 20-length winnerat Warwick last month and should be in great shape for this assignment. Top Tip: SPRINGTOWN LAKE (22) Watch out for: SIMPLY THE BETTS (6)

ATR VERDICT: Minella Melody gave weight and a beating to Colreevy over a furlong further atFairyhouse when last seen and might just prove capable of confirming that running for Henry DeBromhead and Rachael Blackmore. The six-year-old has won all three hurdle starts thus far, buildingon her Graded-placed form in bumpers, and wouldn't be a shock winner here. Floressa was a littledisappointing when third at Doncaster last time, but she was against more experienced mares andperhaps this sort of task will suit her better. Dolcita and Concertista are intriguing runners for WillieMullins, who has won all four renewals of this race so far, but a changing of the guard is expected thistime, and perhaps ARD ABHAINN is the best angle into the race. She was admittedly beaten byMinella Melody at Punchestown in December, but only by two lengths off level weights and prices atthe time of writing of around 9/4 and 12/1 seem to be rather disproportionate. The selection proved fartoo good for the opposition in Listed company at Thurles a couple of months ago and the suspicion isthat Davy Russell will try and turn this into a serious stamina test. Top Tip: ARD ABHAINN (1) Watch out for: MINELLA MELODY (4)

ATR VERDICT: LE BREUIL and Jamie Codd combined 12 months ago to land the National HuntChase at this meeting and they can pick up further Festival success here. Ben Pauling's eight-year-oldshould run a massive race in this before possibly heading to the Grand National and course form is ahuge plus for the dour stayer, who has shaped better than the bare results may suggest on his twolatest outings. Kilfilum Cross is 1lb lower than when second in this last year, with the third on thatoccasion, The Young Master, hard to dismiss despite pulling up last time. Warren Greatrex and NoelMcParlan teamed up to win this in 2018 and could be involved at the business end with course scorerBob Mahler, who tuned up for this with a victory in the Edinburgh National, while Deise Aba made itback-to-back victories at Sandown last month and can remain competitive off 7lb higher. Fitzhenry,Plan Of Attack and Milan Native lead a strong Irish challenge and have to be taken seriously, withChampagne Platinum an intriguing runner for Nicky Henderson, with this trip much further than any ofhis runs over fences so far. Top Tip: LE BREUIL (2) Watch out for: KILFILUM CROSS (18)
