The O.B Lulu-Briggs Foundation is a Not-for-profit Organization
committed to providing quality humanitarian services to people in rural
and urban areas of Rivers State, the Niger Delta and beyond.
Recently, the Foundation held her 20thFree Medical Mission in Enwang
Community, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State from the 5th
through 9th of August, 2013. The Free Medical Mission held in Enwang,
helped to redefine the mission of the Foundation which is to renderselfless service to humanity, delivering outstanding proactive social
welfare services, health care and spiritual guidance to local
communities.
However, the people of Enwang were very pleased and expressed their
profound gratitude during and after the programme. They could only
wish for an extension, if possible.

The purpose of this report, is to give an in-depth information of a
better part of all the proceedings before and during the Medical
Mission. The statistics offered in this report, along side with the
charts, will enable decision makers in the organization, structure
and shape their policies/strategies so as to target desired outcome
in subsequent Free Medical Missions and also add to the alreadyexisting body of knowledge in the organization.
Furthermore, this report would be of help to the Ministry of Health,
other NGOs and Research teams who might intend visiting the area
for either free medical exercises, researches or other medical
related programmes.

This report however, is centered on the O.B Lulu-Briggs
Foundations Free Medical Mission carried out in MboLocal Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria.

During the Medical Mission, several persons were treated and offered
different forms of medical treatment and spiritual guidance. The statistics
of the activities were collected by staff and volunteers via
Prescription sheets
Registers
FormsCameras
Personal observations.
These information were transferred to the Foundations Medical Mission
database on a daily basis by staff.

PRESCRIPTION SHEETSIn all the departments, patients collected prescription sheets from staff
and volunteers posted to these departments and used the sheets to see the
doctors. Doctors used the prescription sheets for consultation, diagnosis
and prescription of drugs for the people. These sheets as were designed
and used, has different colours each representing different departments.
They were numbered every morning and distributed to patients in an
orderly form.
REGISTERS
The FoundationsMedical volunteers in some sections like the Laboratory,
Theatre and Dental sections used registers to record the details of patients
seen and treated daily. These registers contained pieces of information like
Name of patient, date seen, gender, age, diagnosis, proffered treatment andthe consultant/doctorsname.

DATA GATHERING FORM
These are printed sheets used to collate patients information daily; they
are gathered information composed from the registers. These were used
in the General, Eye Care and Pediatrics departments.
CAMERAS
This method was adopted to make a photo story of the event and pictorialpresentation of most surgical operations and tooth extractions done
during the Free Medical Mission.
Other methods used for this purpose were: consent forms and personal
observations.

THE EVANGELICAL TEAM
The Evangelical team partners with the Foundation and as a result are
attached to work with the Medical Missions team. They go ahead of time
to fast and pray for the success of the Medical Missions. During the
exercise, they help to counsel patients, offer spiritual guidance, and pray
with patients waiting to be treated. They also organize crusades in the
field. This team was however a collective effort by The Chapel of God.
CROWD CONTROL
Some of our staff and other volunteers were posted to strategic locations
to help in crowd control.
