theworld, after spearheading thelaunch of theHope Consortium.Comprising leading Abu Dha-

bi and global entities, the HopeConsortium represents a com-plete supply chain solution to ad-dress vaccine transport, demandplanning, sourcing, training anddigital technology infrastructureand facilitate vaccine availabilityacross theworld.Hope Consortium member

Etihad Cargo and the consor-tium have transported five mil-lion vaccines in November onbehalf of the Department ofHealth – Abu Dhabi, which isspearheading the consortiumand will oversee regulatorycompliance, full chain exper-tise and scientific insight.The consortium also includes

Abu Dhabi Ports Company,Rafed, the healthcare purchas-ing arm of Abu Dhabi-basedADQand SkyCell of Switzerland,which develops next-generation,temperature-controlled logisticscontainers for the pharmaceuti-cal industry. As part of the HopeConsortium, SkyCell will estab-lish a regional service and man-ufacturing centre in AbuDhabi.

Public-private partnership“The Hope Consortium is

a prime example of how AbuDhabi is leading in providingsolutions, capabilities and ca-pacities to help the world get

through this global pandemic.It is a continuationof all players’collaboration of a UAE-basedpublic-private partnership thatspans the globe. While assuringvaccine supply to the domesticmarket, the Hope Consortiumwill offer international gov-ernments, non-governmentalorganisations and vaccine sup-pliers a cohesive solution acrossevery supply chain step – fromair freight, regional storage andtemperature monitoring, toinventory management, coldand ultra-cold container solu-

tion, regulatory clearance andhealthcare and pharma qualityassurance,” said Shaikh Abdul-lah Bin Mohammad Al Hamed,chairman of the Department ofHealth – Abu Dhabi.“Developing a vaccine is only
