CITY OF REVELSTOKE
BYLAW No. 2008
Being a Bylaw to Authorize Charging Fees for Various Services and Goods
WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia, deem it
necessary to establish fees and charges for various municipal services and goods.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of British Columbia,
in open meeting assembled enacts as follows.
1. THAT this Bylaw may be cited as the "Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 2008".
2. THAT the fees and charges for goods and services provided by or conducted by the
City of Revelstoke be established as outlined in Schedules A through H attached
hereto and forming part of this bylaw:

3. Fees and Charges in this Bylaw are subject to provincial and federal tax, as follows:
a. applicable taxes will be added to each good or service as outlined in Schedules A,
B, and C attached hereto, unless exempt from provincial and/or federal tax.
b. applicable taxes are included in each good or service as outlined in Schedules D,
E, F, G, and H attached hereto, unless exempt from provincial and/or federal tax.
4. Wherever this Bylaw sets out fees and charges with respect to other City Bylaws and
such other Bylaws contain similar fees and charges, this Bylaw is deemed to prevail.
5. If any section, subsection or clause of this Bylaw is for any reason held to be invalid
by the decision of a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision will not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this Bylaw.
6. The Director of Finance will have the authority to establish a fee for a good or service
that is not included in this Bylaw.
7. THAT City of Revelstoke Fees and Charges for Various Municipal Services and
Goods Bylaw No. 1706 and all amendments thereto be repealed in its entirety.

Code 1: Profit Oriented Commercial events, sales and promotions, private
sponsored stage shows, concerts , trade shows and
conventions.
Profit Orientated : A business group or individual whose main objectives is
to achieve the greatest possible profit for the business,
group or individual.
Code 2: Corporate / Business Commercial use for meetings, workshops, banquets or
major fundraising events.
Corporate/Business: A business (also known as enterprise or firm) is an
organization engaged in the trade of goods, services, or
both to consumers. Businesses are mostly privately
owned and administered to earn profit to increase the
wealth of their owners. Business may also be not for
profit.
Code 3: Non Profit Religious events, weddings, union meetings, service clubs,
political rallies, funerals, local recreation and cultural
events of a revenue nature.
Fundraising: The process undertaken by an organization, group or
individual to secure financial support for its operations
in the form of donations. It compromises a range of
activities including special events, must be used to
further its charitable objectives.
Code 4: Non Profit/Charity Private group meetings, children parties and community
benefits, bingo, local fundraising events.
Not for Profit/Charity: A registered organization without share capital whose
activities are not directed toward the accrual of profits
for the gain of its members. A non profit organization
or charity must use all funds placed at its disposal to
further the objectives for which it is established.

1.3 Bingo Hall Rental
Minimum fee of $50.00 for 1 to 39 attendees. Plus an additional fee of $1.00 per person when
there are between 40 to 60 attendees. Plus a further additional fee of $.60 per person when there
are 61+ attendees. Applicable taxes are not included.
1.4 Market Events
An event or occasion involving community vendors, held at regular intervals, at which people
meet for the purpose of buying and selling merchandise.

There is a $87.50 fee for setting up for a function on the evening prior to the booking date.
Set up/take down fees by Janitorial staff is $30.00 per hour for extra-ordinary events.
To rent the kitchen is an additional $130.50 for full kitchen services or $67.00 for 1/2
kitchen service or bar service. Definition of ½ Kitchen service - not utilizing place
settings or stoves.
1.6 In Kind
There shall be no meeting room charge for youth groups or for meetings of local adults providing
services to youth. The exception is when youth groups are using a facility for the purpose of
fundraising or wind up events requiring the City to have extra staff for security and clean up.

Aquatic Centre Staff
Aquatic Centre staff can make use of the
pool at no cost for training purposes. This
includes classes for award purposes. All
staff using the fitness centre pays unless
authorized by a health professional.
City of Revelstoke Pool Pass Program
Community Connections evaluates
accessibility of patrons according to the
guidelines set out in the agreement.
Community Connections notifies staff at
the Community Centre after the patron has
been approved. Community Centre staff
prepares a pass with an expiry date of
December 31. Patrons involved in this
program will be assessed for eligibility
each year.

RSS PERC Cards
Students at RSS on the PERC list can
produce their PERC card for 4 no charge
swims or the Fitness Centre. They are
issued three times a year and are non-
transferrable amongst students.
Children's Birthday Parties
Wet & Wild 7-12 years - includes a room
booking for $33.00 & discount swim rates
for kids: $2.75 per child; $5.50 per adult
Swim & Pizza 7-12 years - includes 1 hour
of swimming then off to a room for pizza.
$109.00 plus $5.50 per adult
Preschool 3-6 years - includes a maximum
of 8 kids under the age of six, one parent,
party leader for one hour, and use of room:
$60.00 plus $2.75 per extra adult.
3.1 Club, Business or Association Rental
Two hours of exclusive pool time including two lifeguards is $265.00 for private groups
of 100 people or less.
If additional lifeguards are required for any group an additional $24.00 per lifeguard per
hour is incurred.
Prices for exclusive pool time increases by $24 per hour for extra lifeguard with numbers
over 100.
Bookings are available any Saturday night of the month from 8-10 pm and any Sunday
morning from 10 am - noon
3.2 CORPORATE PASS PROGRAM / CORPORATE HEALTH AND WELLNESS
PROGRAM
Blocks of 100 Adult passes for a price of 50 cents less than the set rate.
Employers that register their Health and Wellness Program with the Parks, Recreation
and Culture Department shall be entitled to a 10% discount on annual pass purchases.
