Pandesara to Kapletha

Location of river stretch with geographical detail like Latitude & Longitude etc.
Latitude :21o2’55.96” N
Longitude :72o55’16.01” E
These coordinates are of Baleshwar Khadi meeting Mindhola River passing along Kapletha
villageand length of stretch is 14 km and it is non-perennial.
Name of Water Body: Baleshwar Khadi (It is not River but Nallah)
Stretch identified by CPCB: Pandesara to Kapletha(No such stretch)
Towns mentioned by CPCB: Pandesara, Udhna(Not related to Baleshwar Khadi)
Baleshwar is a creek and not a River. Baleshwar khadi passes from villages like Gangadhara,
Baleshwar, Taraj and meets Mindhola River in Samrod. This creek doesn’t flow near Pandesara,
Udhna as mentioned in CPCB report. Kapletha falls near this stretch as shown below.
Background of pollution causes into river stretch
Baleshwar khadi flows along villages Baleshwar, Taraj, Samrod, and approx. 9.0MLD discharge is
there in this stretch. From Samrod Baleshwar khadi meets MindholaRiver. Baleshwar Khadi is
not a River but a Khadi (Nallah) for conveyance of excess run off, irrigation tail end water,
sewage from villages like Baleshwar, Taraj, Samrod,etc.Sampling location is at NH-8 near

Baleshwar. As per survey carried out in Baleshwar Khadi near NH-8 approx. 9 MLD of domestic
sewage is being discharged from villages like Baleshwar & Residential areas near this village as
well as industrial effluent from CETPs i.e. 105 MLD (total discharge of 114 MLD) i.e. CETPs-
Gujarat Eco Textile Park Ltd & New Palsana Industrial Co-op Society Ltd.
The total flow in Baleshwar khadi which meets Mindhola River in saline/creek zone is around
114 MLD* inclusive of domestic & industrial effluent. Baleshwar Khadi meets Mindhola River
at Samrod Village.

Action taken to reduce pollution in river stretched, if any
Periodical monitoring of the CETPs along with sampling and analysis of the waste water sample
is collected. Action is taken by Board in case of non-compliance. Sampling is done of Baleshwar
Khadi as part of Project sampling every month.
Action plan for future actions tobe taken with time limit
Gujarat Eco Textile Park Ltd (GETPL), Palsana- 60 MLD has obtained CTE Amendment for zero
liquid discharge as the treated water shall be recycled to member units.They will propose new
installation of Sedimentation tank, casket cooling system, Disk flo tation, ultrafiltration and RO
plant for upgradation and recycle of treated waste water to member units. Proposed project
cost will be Rs.160 Crores and will be completed in 2021.

14. Public Health Study in the vicinity of polluted river stretch:-
As details on Health Aspects are not available with the Board, it was decided to give the work to
carry out Health impact study to NIOH, Ahmedabad. However as per the letter received from
NIOH (letter No.:- DIR/108/GPCB-Proj/2019/9752 dated 07/02/2019) they are not able to
carried out the study as per requirement, So letter has been issued to Health & Family welfare
dept. to submit the action plan of Health Aspects includes Health impact study and mitigation
measures to improve the health in the catchment of polluted river stretch. The details received
