3. 1.1 House Meyer
This project started in 2010 and has gone onto site February2011.
The main plans of this house will have featured in one of last
years 2nd year portfolios.
Description of work : alterations and additions were made to this
house. Faade modernised to fit in with the rest of the recently
renovated homes in the area. The first floor of this house was
almost completely flattened and redone. Once we started on site we
realized that much more walls had to come down to make the
alterations.

Drawings with revisionsand less than 80% of work done by me.
A brickwork layout was requested by the contractor to make it
easier for the foreman on site to determine which walls were to be
demolished and where new walls were mean to be built. Info simply
had to be removed from this layout and
walls(new/demolished/existing) to be made more clear.

2.1 House Browne
This project startedearly this year. Measuring up of the site had
already taken place before Istarted work.
I got there in time to finish off the council submissiondrawingsand
take them to council. Going through heritage with this house was
not the easiest . As it was older than 60 years and officials
wanted to go on site visits. This was all happening whenHWC decided
to changed the over-the-counter help as they did before to handing
over your plans and them contacting you. Which takes much
longer.
description of work: alterations and additions -playroom
incorporated into the space as the clients were expecting their
first child. Faade modernised slightly to make space for an open
pergola/patio area. This house has a beautiful garden and we left
as much of it intact as possible.

3. House Wooley
This project is still in its early stages. We arefinalising the

anotherroom. As this project is in its early stages I have only
just started the council submission drawings.

kitchenette and bathroom.

4. House Lancaster
This is a new project in sketch design phase. Measuring up of the
site will take place soon as the sketch design was to show the
client what it could look like in future with a few
alterations.
Description of work : move existing garages to end of site and
slightly modernise the rear end of the house.
The following drawings fall in the 80%+ category
No drawings have been done by me yet. We have however gathered
information on the site and have taken an engineer to the site to
inspect the house. The client bought the property and made these
inquiries before buying.

4.1 House Lancaster
This house went to the HWC for enquiries about the site because it
was older than 60 years old. We needed to know if we were able to
move the existing garages and modernise the back while keeping the
faade as natural as possible. In this specific part of Rondebosch
the houses come straight up to the street. There are no
pavements/sidewalks.

5. House Loch
This project started last year and I got the opportunity to do my
first set of council submission drawings.
Description of work : the work space had to be maximised to its
fullest, because I was on a small plot and they needed a conference
room that could later be split up.
