Fixed displacement gear pumps and motors
and variable displacement piston pumps are a
perfect choice when equipping applications
like fork lift trucks, tractors and road rollers.
Our wide range of motors, piston, gear and
orbital types, are extensively used in the
mobile Industry.

Gear pumps and motors
For light vehicles such as aerial lifts, greens
and fairway mowers and electric forklifts,
Sauer-Danfoss offers aluminum pumps in the
SKP1 and SKP2 ranges and YCC pumps where
compact multi-section pumps are required.
The pumps feature: Integral valves, pressure
balanced design for high efficiency, and
extruded aluminum bodies for high strength.
For medium-sized vehicles such as tractors,
IC forklifts and skid steers we offer the 25SP
aluminum pump or the cast iron D Series
pump, where a heavier duty pump is required.
Both pumps feature: SAE A and B mounts,
integral valves, and high-performance
DU bushings.
For larger off-highway vehicles like tractors,
backhoe loaders, dumpers and telescopic
handlers, we offer the SNP3 as well as the heavy
duty 35CI range of cast-iron pumps.

An integrated hydraulic package is a
combination of pumps, valves, filters, fittings,
pipework, ports, P.T.O.s etc.
Package pumps can be considered as:
• Simple: a) A tandem gear pump with special
inlet adapter, or b) a solo gear pump with
filter and external gear
• Intermediate: A tandem gear pump with
customised mounting, filter mount relief
valve and external gear
• Complex: 2 gear pumps and 1 piston pump
with 3 filter mounts, 6 valves, custom mount,
24 ports, gear drive train, internal galleries
replacing pipework, mount for 3rd party
valve.

for the manufacturers of agricultural and
on-highway vehicles. Over the last 12 years,
Sauer-Danfoss has participated in many in-

Sauer-Danfoss motors are light and compact
and, therefore, easy to install in equipment
such as forklift trucks, grass-cutters,
winches, fishing vessels and injection
moulding machines.
Orbital motors
The motors vary in size (rated displacement)
from 8 cm3 (0,49 in3) to 800 cm3 (48,91 in3)
per revolution.
Speeds range from a top speed of approx.
2,500 min-1 for the smallest type and up to
approx 600 min-1 for the largest type.
Maximum operating torques vary from 13 Nm
(115 in-lbs) to 2,700 Nm (24,000 in-lbs) (peak)
and maximum outputs are from 2.0 kW (2.7 hp)
to 70 kW (95 hp).

cartridge valves – as well as the simplicity of
our advanced CAN bus communication

Proportional valves type PVG
PVG proportional valves are a modular concept
which enable bankable sections to perform
many individual tasks. One valve group might
contain up to ten sections, each featuring load
independent flow control that operates on the
load sensing principle. Flow up to 240 l/min per
section and pressure up to 400 bar is available.

EHV-valve
The EHV-valve is a complete family of stackable,
solenoid-controlled, pilot-operated valve mo-
dules. The EHV-valve is available in open-center
and closed-center versions and to be used with
fixed or variable displacement pumps.

Typical uses include controlling hydraulic
systems in backhoes, trenchers and aerial lifts.
For the home, Sauer-Danfoss is the leading
producer of valves for lawn and garden care
equipment.
Of the parallel circuit valves, the standard
models are equipped with handles. Joystick
control options are available for certain valves
used on utility trucks, lawn and garden tractors,
forklifts and skid steer loaders. The 1627/1637,
our most popular in the 37.85 l/min mono-
block family, allows the operation of more than
one function at a time. Load check features are
provided for transition spool timing. Serial
valves used in skid steer loaders are available in
two- and three- spool versions. The two-spool
valve in the 1025/1225 75 l/min valve family
has a tandem circuit which directs priority flow
to the number one spool to provide full power
and speed to the operation at hand. For
applications that require individual sections for
each spool, Sauer-Danfoss presently offers
three parallel stack valves: The 1325, a 75 l/min
valve, and the 1125, a 37.85 l/min valve. Both
are equipped with the same features as our
third parallel stack valve; the 1681 mono-stack
56.78 l/min valve.
The mono-stack valve parallel circuit combines
the lower manufacturing cost of a mono-block
with the versatility of a stack valve. The design
eliminates between-section leakage and spool
bind. These valves are available with joystick
control options and offer from two to six spools
as a standard. A single spool add-on section –
to be used in any application requiring cylinder
port options – is also available.
The 1618/1638 valve family offers pilot-ope-
rated checks for all work ports at 37.85 l/min.
These models also provide a low leakage check
feature. Two single spool valves, the 1500 – a
26 l/min valve – and the 1530 – a 23 l/min valve
– offer low leakage and a compact design.
Custom-designed valves are available
with load checks.
HICs and cartridge valves
HIC is short for Hydraulic Integrated Circuits.
In addition to the standard range, blocks can
be specially designed to meet customer
requirements. The use of HICs substantially
reduces the number of external connections.
At the same time it cuts installation time, saves
space and weight, improves system perfor-
mance and simplifies maintenance.
Motor blocks
The Sauer-Danfoss range of motor blocks offers
maximum flexibility and numerous application
possibilities. Typical application areas are not
confined to the mobile sector, there are also
countless application possibilities in the marine
and industrial fields.

The range of pressure-regulating valves
includes single-shock, double-shock, sequence,

The range of flow-regulating valves includes
pressure-compensated flow-regulating valves,

Solenoid operated directional control valves

– system level as well as component level.
Our product range makes it possible to
cover applications of all types – ranging
from ordinary 2-wheel steering (also known
as Ackermann steering) to articulated
steering, complicated 4-wheel steering,
automatic steering (e.g. by sensor) and
remote controlled steering via satellite.

The OSBP, OSPC and OSPF steering units can
also be used for heavy vehicles such as large
tractors, combine harvesters, loaders and
dumpers. However, for vehicles of that size,
Sauer-Danfoss has specifically designed the
OSPQ and OSPD. These steering units are
designed with variable displacement to make
emergency steering possible on even heavy
machines. The unit change automatically to
lowest displacement in case of no pump oil
supply.
Large vehicles
The OSPL steering unit is particularly suitable
for loaders and dumpers where the steering
flow can reach 100 l/min. For vehicles with a
total weight even exceeding 100 tons and a
needed steering flow of up to 400 l/min, Sauer-
Danfoss has engineered the OSQ flow amplifier.
On loaders, large forklift trucks, dumpers, large
tractors, and other heavy vehicles, there is often
a need for electrically actuated steering in the
form of a joystick or automatic steering as
alternative to the normal steering wheel mode.
For such purposes Sauer-Danfoss has created
the EHPS system.
The EHPS system has the following advantages:
• High steering pressure requiring smaller
cylinders and oil flow
• Low pilot pressure (max. 30 bar) giving an
extremely low noise level in the cab
• Minimal jerks on vehicles with articulated
steering
• Optional combination with Sauer-Danfoss
PVG 32 proportional valves
• Possible to emergency-steer even heavy
vehicles.

control hydraulic systems in both off-road
and on-highway vehicles.
The power of hydraulics combined with the
advanced control features offered by electronic
solutions increase the performance while
maintaining the highest reliability.
The electronic solutions combine other
components – such as pumps, motors, valves
and steering systems – meeting the highest
needs for integration.
Operator and operation
On the operator side we offer a product line
that consists of pedals, joysticks and displays
to command the machine precisely and
show complex machine information. With a
broad line of sensors such as speed, tempera-
ture and pressure sensors the machine and its
behavior can be monitored while data is
submitted to the controlling unit.
For controlling of the machine we offer a family
of standardized microcontrollers from the
compact SX up to the multi I/O unit S5X.
Moreover, the systems can be built with CAN
bus allowing an unlimited number of micro-
controllers and related I/Os.
Joystick
Different operating modules, proportional as
well as ON/OFF, can be built into the control
lever. In addition, the joystick can be equipped
with printed circuit boards offering different
electronic options. The joystick range is under
constant development to meet the demands
made on modern cab arrangements; demands
that include form, color and, not least, ergo-
nomic design.
Sauer-Danfoss has also developed the new
joystick Prof 1 incorporating CAN.
Microcontroller software
The software on the microcontrollers is not
only designed to control the propel function
directly, but also for electronic Anti Slip Control
(ASC) and various kinds of steering and
working functions. In addition, we offer con-
figured solutions with the SX control to run
specific personalities – such as PID, load-
control, leader-follower, etc.
Besides the standardized microcontroller we
provide tailored solutions for fan drive controls
and transit mixer drum drive control.
Interface
The controllers are interfaced through servo-
valves and proportional valves with the
hydraulic components of the machine.
The controller outputs are especially designed
to fit the technical requirements of the various
actuators. As mentioned above, we also provide
CAN communication to interface with other
systems such as the BPI and the EPS.
Forklift trucks and AC motors
The new generation of forklift trucks using
AC motors offers higher performance at lower
operating costs. With BPI and EPS, Sauer-
Danfoss now offers a complete solution for
AC motion control systems and allows you to
benefit from the advantages of modern
AC technology.
Battery Powered Inverter (BPI)
BPI converts the battery DC voltage into a
3-phase AC voltage used to supply and control
induction motors, primarily for the hydraulic
pump and propel drive.

Electric Power Steering (EPS)
EPS is a fully electric steering system that
converts the motion of a steering actuator into

ler), an induction motor, a cycloidal
gear, plus unique built-in sensors.
The principal EPS characteristics are:
