student services center
1
1a MAIN LOBBY & ACADEMIC OFFICE
design concept The Student Service Center is a place for both current and potential students to get essential
information and improve their success at the University. With this overall purpose, it is
important that the design of this space provide visitors with a sense of identity and comfort;
this will make a lasting impression on future students.
The University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point takes great effort in moving forward with the
current trends of sustainability, so it is vital that this space do the same. Natural colors with a
pop of purple and the use of natural materials will make sure that this consideration has been
met within the space.
Simplicity speaks volumes and that is what the design will reflect. It will showcase the purity of
nature and the elements found in our surrounding natural environment that we are so lucky to
have and can readily embrace. This will become the ideal representation for the face of the
University and successfully provide a foundation for students and their education.

In creating an educational environment that meets the new paradigm of learning, this two
level design incorporates versatile seating and flexible furniture features allowing students and
teachers to control their environment, rather than having to adapt to it. Productive work will
always be achieved, with endless wireless and outlet access as well as the carefully configured
plan that is organized to control noise level, separating private, semi-private, and social areas,
while maintaining an open layout.
Aesthetically, the space feels complete as the sleek furniture contrasts positively with the
historical characteristics, creating an eclectic, yet cohesive appearance. Because this space
reflects the innovative ways the new generation learns, it was crucial to consider the current
issues effecting the environment while designing this space. Sustainability was executed in this
design through the finishes and the lighting both natural and artificial. Overall, this space
supports all types of study and approaches to teaching, which will continue to interest all
students, making this a primal location to get work done outside of the classroom.

The Sentry World redesign brings a harmonious flow of the exquisite
landscape of Sentry World Golf Course to the interior of this
structure. Much like the exterior land, the redesign allows the interior
square footage to be maximized to its full potential and profitability.
3a
Through this, Sentry World is branded by the famous flower hole and
the Sentry World Logo, which was hinted throughout the entire
space. A use of a warm neutral color palette to enhance the logo
and landscape keeps the space appealing to everyone in a
contemporary, comfortable, and memorable way that patrons will
want to continue to utilize.

Slice is a new up and coming social network in Atlanta, Georgia that features professional social networking
benefits that other social networks have yet to offer. It offers users the opportunity to have a constructive
workspace page and a completely separate social life page all under the same username. This new concept has
lead to Slice’s success. The company features about 50 employees, but is rapidly growing due to its explosive
popularity. In this office, there will be 25 permanent employees with the other employees coming from out of state
to touch base with headquarters occasionally. 4a Drawings in portfolio: not to scale
slice social network
Slice’s office design allows for a strong flow of communication through an open layout. Primary colors create division throughout this open
plan, by labeling certain departments to a distinct hue. Using a bright color palette of blue, purple, orange, and green transforms the office
into a contemporary oasis that reflects the creative and energetic quality of the company and the way work gets done. This fun and inviting
atmosphere balances the natural and artificial light to create a productive work environment that promotes employees to expand their
creative thought and develop fresh ideas that will keep Slice current.

THIS PROJECT TAKES STYLE TO A WHOLE OTHER DIMENSION AS ITS AESTHETIC QUALITY IS SUPPORTED BY AGING IN PLACE DESIGN MAKING THIS DUPLEX A DESIGN THAT WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE THE HOMEOWNERS NEEDS YEAR AFTER YEAR.
The Gardens Duplex design embodies the true nature of an aging-in-place space. What separates this accessible design from
the rest is that it is seamlessly disguised by an aesthetic shield that takes away the harsh glare of hospital essence. To create a
design that feels like home, that will aid in the couples future lives, the floor plan provides an arrangement comfortable for
guests to socialize, but leaves enough space to travel through with no struggle.
By using a rich color palette, warmth radiates from the surface and expands throughout the whole space. The colors are
influenced by grains and other naturally grown produce, emphasizing the natural surroundings of the Midwest.
This creative solution for developing an accessible space, is innovative and provides an atmosphere that resembles the life a
potential buyer wants to live now and in the future.

THE VOID: 9/11 MEMORIAL
GRAFFITI’S SPORTS PUB: STEVENS POINT, WI
This building was designed by Milwaukee
Architect Bernard Kolpacki in 1890 and styled
as a Queen Anne structure. For the downtown
Stevens Point community, this building acts as a
landmark, highlighting the great features within
this downtown historical district.
This watercolor depicts the 9/11 Memorial in New York where the World
Trade Center used to stand. It is a view into one of the many people part of
the overwhelming number that will never be forgotten.
