NEW DVD’S IN THE LIBRARY
Gifted Hands by Ben Carson. A life changing movie for all
ages (anyone young or old will enjoy watching this movie). Dr.
Carson, as a young boy uses his personal faith, & seeks God’s
help in overcoming his childhood frustrations and anger. A
truly inspirational movie.
Time Changer by D. David Morin. This story is about a
seminary professor from 1890 who is sent over 100 years into
the future to visit 21st Century America. There, he is shocked
to discover a society in which clothes do more to reveal than to
conceal, children have lost all respect for authority, and the
Lord’s name is taken in vain without hesitation.
Five or six years ago, the church I pastored decided to
sponsor a free car care clinic for single mothers and widows in
our community. The men changed oil and oil filters, checked
tire pressure and checked other essential fluids under the hood.
The students would then give a free car wash, and all the while,
the ladies in the church entertained, serving cookies and punch
while sharing the gospel with those who came. It was a great
day as we were able to minister to a number of families in our
community. However, I distinctly remember the men coming
and getting me because of their concern for one particular car.
As they began to drain the oil, less than a quart of oil came out
of the drain plug. Most cars run on a minimum of four to five
quarts. Running out of gas may inconvenience you for a day, but
running out of oil will inconvenience your engine permanently.
This single mother had no idea how close she was to
destroying her only means of transportation. We showed her
what drained out and explained the need to check her oil from
then on. Her reply was, “No wonder the oil light has been on
and the engine running so rough.” It was sad how close she had
come to destroying her engine. I am afraid some people are with
their lives the way this woman was with her car and not even
know.
Revival is not scheduled to be an inconvenience of extra
church meetings once a year. Revival is scheduled with a
purpose, and that purpose is for you, as part of the church, to
have your walk with the Lord reignited so that your “engine”
does not burn up. I hope and pray you will take advantage of
Revival. Participate in the twenty-four hours of prayer
September 16th-17th from 5p.m. to 5 p.m. and then plan on being
here every night of Revival (September 20th-23rd) with Dr.
Kevin Smith (teaching pastor at Highview Baptist Church in
Louisville, KY). Both you, your family and our church will be
better because you participated.

Food, Fun, Games & Fellowship
Sept 18th 6:30 pm-10:30 pm Fellowship Hall
I have started writing 4 or 5 different articles before
landing on what I find to be a reoccurring, pressing, and
increasingly important topic. That topic is doubt. Doubt has
many faces. I want to encourage anyone who is walking with
any form of doubt.
I grew up with an understanding that I wasn't suppose to
doubt. Especially if I had doubts about God. I thought I was
never to question God. I have learned that it has been my
doubts that have opened the doors to a much clearer
understanding and a deepening of my relationship with God.
The truth is essential to the life of every believer. Jesus
Himself said when talking to Pilot in John 18, "I was born for
this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the
truth." Gods want you and me to live in assurance. Doubts may
be the way God leads you to the truth. Doubts are not bad. The
only way a doubt becomes bad is when we live in it. We must
not be locked up in fear when we can be resting in the grace and
promises of God. If there are doubts speak up! You can and
should know Gods truth especially for salvation! Now is the
time...

MISSION - LOS PALMARES 2016
January 23-30, 2016 are the dates of our
next Guatemala Mission Trip. The main
mission of the trip will be Evangelism. We
plan to share the gospel by going door-to-
door, inviting the people of our adopted
village of Los Palmares, Guatemala to
attend VBS at the school facility and
Evangelistic meetings that will be held at
an outdoor basketball court in the heart of
the village. Additionally, if funds are
available, we will build a home for a
single mom and family of 4. The cost of
building a home for this family is $9,500.
If you are interested in going on this trip
please contact Bro. Tom. The cost of the
trip is approximately $2,000 per person. If
you would like to contribute to the cost of
the home, again contact Bro. Tom, Missions
Pastor, for details.
