This  term’s  theme  is:  Sharing  The  Planet!

We  will  be  exploring  how  people  may  choose  to  take  responsible  ac9ons  that  have  an  impact  on  the  environment.

The  children  have  asked  ques9ons  about  this  line  of  enquiry  and  these  will  make  up  the  basis  of  our  learning.

Wri0ng    Children  will  be  wri9ng  their  own  seAng  descrip9ons,  instruc9ons,  diary  entry’s,  stories  and  persuasive  leCers.  Our  wri9ng  this  term  will  be  linked  to  our  IB  theme,  how  people  may  take  responsible  ac9ons,  and  the  children  will  be  able  to  use  their  knowledge  in  their  wri9ng.  To  do  this,  we  will  also  be  learning  how  to  make  our

wri9ng  more  powerful,  using  adjec9ves,  verbs,  adverbs,  preposi9ons  and

synonyms.

sequences  of  movement.

Maths  Children  will  con9nue  to  develop  their  mul9plica9on  and  division  knowledge  using  the  3,  4,  6  and  8  9mes  tables.

Theme/IB  Through  our  theme  learning  we  will  inves9gate  the  key  ques9ons  children  asked  about  our  central  idea:  People  may  choose  to  take

responsible  ac9ons  that  have  an  impact  on  the  environment.

Children  have  come  up  with  their  own

ques9ons  including:  Why  do  plants  need  water  to  grow?

Is  it  our  responsibility  to  water  plants?  Where  does  the  water  go  when  we  water

plants?  What  are  the  different  parts  of  a  flower  called?  Why  do  small  creatures  land  on  the  colourful

part  of  a  flower?  What  causes  a  plant  to  die?  Why  do  plants  have  roots?

What  happens  when  we  run  out  of  oil?

Music  Mrs  Stroud  will  be  teaching  Year  3

for  music  sessions.  The  children  will  be  learning  about  how  composers  interpret  seasons  and  nature.
