WELCOMEWelcome to the 2nd Americas Indexed Insurance Forum 2018 in Des Moines. We are excited to return to Iowa after the excellent feedback we received on last year’s inaugural SRP Indexed Insurance Forum, which included a one-day derivatives training class as well as high quality content and discussions opening the conversation between structured products and the indexed insurance community.
This year’s event opens, again, with a training day, which will take place on Wednesday 18 September, and includes sessions on the basics of derivatives and market-linked products as well as the effect that derivatives have on the insurance market.
The conference will start with a keynote on the US financial markets, providing an insight and analysis of the prevailing trends in financial markets, followed by an investigation of the global structured products markets based on SRP data.
These sessions will provide the stage on which indexed annuity stakeholders can discuss the newest and most innovative strategies and indices built to address the low interest rate environment as well as global growth opportunities. Panels will include debates on how best to introduce favoured strategies to investors, and views from the buyside, which will share feedback from clients on the demands from investors, how they view product offerings and the challenges
for developers in a rapidly changing economic and regulatory environment.
We are delighted to welcome Doug Ommen, insurance commissioner of Iowa, to a roundtable that will highlight regulatory initiatives affecting index annuities and offer insight into how the rules can and should be interpreted.
The event culminates with two panels, each designed to reveal how the market for index annuities will develop and increase in size and sophistication.
A cocktail reception at the end of the day will be followed by the SRP Indexed Insurance Awards Ceremony, which will include a dinner and awards presentation in recognition of success and innovation.
We look forward to your participation in this important discussion and debate and we hope you enjoy this year’s event.
Best regards
Tiago FernandesManaging Director | SRP
