Step by step on changing Optical Prism Take out prism from mounting

1. Take out optical sensor from reader. 2. Take out the stopper and remove the FFC cable from both side connector.

3. Unscrew 3 screw found beside the optical sensor

(Fig 2) 4. Slowly remove away the plastic cover found on one side

5. By using a flat and fine item (such as screw driver), slowly take out the optical prism.

6. Slowly take out the whole prism from its mount without broken the mounting itself

(Fig 5)

Install the new prism into the mounting 1. Clean the new prism slowly and make sure not dust or dirt on two major surfaces.

Refer Fig 6. (Never use rough cloth or tissue to clean the prism. This might scratch the silicon coating surface)

2. Place the prism slowly back to the mounting as shown in Fig 5. 3. Once the prism has hold firmly in the mounting, close the plastic cover and place

3 screw back to it’s position.(Fig 3 and Fig 2) 4. Slowly put back the FFC cable and lock it properly. (Fig 1)

Surface required extreme clean in condition
