Benefits of being a member
• Reduced costs– Reduced time and effort spent on original cataloguing as quality records are available for
copying into members' own catalogues.
– A fast and efficient interloan service, including a centralised billing system.
– Greater return on investment, collections increasing visibility on the web
– National brokering provides members with unlimited access to quality databases and services that may otherwise be unaffordable.
• Satisfied clients– A single discovery system for New Zealand libraries’ collections makes finding and getting
items quicker and easier.
– Availability of enhanced metadata for individual libraries’ catalogues makes the discovery process more accurate. (Table of Contents for NZ publications etc)
• Shared practise– Members can share advice on workflow practises and issues, formally and informally, online
and in person.
– Members can influence future direction of Te Puna services through the Te Puna Services Advisory Committee.
