3 Emerging technologies for an efficient Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Karsten Feldhusen, Fujitsu Technology Solutions
About the Speaker:
Karsten Feldhusen is working for Fujitsu since 2001. After several technical
oriented job roles within x86-based server and entry storage subsystems he began
to directly support SELECT Expert partners as Technical Account Manager. Since
2009 Karsten started to focus on desktop virtualization topics. Due to his
responsibility for Fujitsu´s VDI showcases he starts to implement new technologies
in an early preview phase. Today Karsten mainly works as a consultant and
architect for Virtual Desktop Infrastructures on basis of VMware Horizon as well as
Citrix XenDesktop. Nevertheless, implementation and reviewing/troublehooting of
existing customer environments is another part of his daily work.
About the 90-Minute-Workshop:
The presentation will cover several new technologies like application
containerization and profile virtualization introduced by CITRIX and VMWARE in
the past months. We will take a look at its influences on administration,
operation and user experience. Furthermore a live demo is planned to show
some of the new features to give you a non-proprietary view of the pro´s and
con´s each manufacturer is offering. Last but not least we take a look at some

About the Speaker:
As CTO for EMEA, Brian Levy is responsible for bringing Brocade’s vision for cloud strategy and virtualized infrastructure to the market. Levy
will also be charged with providing insight and communicating product vision and direction internally and externally, to both customers and
analysts.
Before joining Brocade, Levy served as Juniper Networks CTO Service Provider Sector EMEA, a role in which he supported the service provider
sales organisation and worked in collaboration with the development teams in order to bring new products to market. As the global lead within
Juniper for SDN and NFV initiatives, he worked closely with customers, partners and development teams to introduce and advocate SDN in the
industry. Levy has held many senior positions in the industry working for both suppliers and service providers. For HP he was the global CTO
for their Media and Communications Business and he was the Group Technology Officer at British Telecom.

About the Speaker:
Matthias Hehnen manages the technical alliance between Fujitsu and Vmware for more than seven years now. Over those years both
companies launched the first VMware ESXi embedded server (on a Fujitsu Siemens RX300 S4 server). In his responsibility a number of joined
solutions (i.e. “Dynamic Infrastructures for VMware vCloud”, “VMware EVO:RAIL”, etc.) as well as Fujitsu developments such as the vCenter
Plug-Ins or management packs for vRealize Operations were launched.
In his role he also works with Fujitsu‘s presales teams and supports their activities with Fujitsu‘s partners and customers. He is very experienced
with products and solutions from Fujitsu as well as from VMware and how these solutions can be sold successfully.

About the Speaker:
Glenn joined ICL in 1979 as an apprentice and has worked for the company, now Fujitsu, throughout a varied career, during which he has
gained expertise in a wide range of IT fields, including manufacturing and production test, hardware, software and firmware design,
infrastructure implementation, project management and business and ITC architecture.
In his role Glenn is responsible for ensuring that the technologies utilised within Fujitsu are an optimum balance of capability and function,
delivering industry leading coherent solutions that balance a supporting vision for clients’ varied businesses with the “art of the possible” at any
point in time; technical feasibility, cost, timescales, risk and flexibility.
Glenn believes that it is essential that such visions are practical, and so is active as an Enterprise Architect. He has used the technology visions
developed in his role to define and lead and several major business change programmes in the public and private sector delivering significant
benefits in terms of business agility, futureproofing, information management and agile collaboration. In this role Glenn works across Fujitsu’s
global business, technology and delivery partners and client staff at many levels, including senior business and technical decision-makers.
Glenn is honored to hold the appointment of Fujitsu Engineering Fellow, and in that role is particularly active in reaching out to the academic
and educational sectors. He promotes new programs to support emerging areas of research, most recently in new connectivity technologies and
artificial intelligence. He is an advocate of the promotion of STEM disciplines in UK education and supports curriculum delivery in several

About the Speaker:
Udo Würtz is Chief Evangelist Data Center Business EMEIA at Fujitsu. In this role, he advises customers at C-Level (CIO, CTO, CEO, CDO,
CFO) regarding technology and new trends in the IT business. The primarily focus for him are Strategies and Technologies for the Software
Defined Data Center (SDDC) and Hyper Converged Infrastructures (HCI). In 2014, he worked temporarily at Fujitsu´s Office in Sunnyvale
(Silicon Valley) to advance GTM-activities with VMware in terms of HCI and Software Defined Data Center activities. In this role he counsels
customers to develop a better understanding of technology distinctions in the Hyper Converged market and how to setup-up an effective and
clear strategy for the Digital Transformation from the Traditional IT Model to Software Defined.
Udo joined Fujitsu in 2014. Prior to this, he was in charge as Head of Global Operations & Infrastructures at Rödl & Partner, a Multinational
audit and tax consulting company with offices in 40 countries worldwide and responsible as CEO for their affiliated company cloudgermany.de,
a cloud service provider where he was involved as a Co-founder right from the start. In this role, he was appointed to the cloud-task force
“Security” of the Federal Ministry of the Economy in Berlin.
Udo began his career in Germany as an engineer and application developer. He joined Libri, an affiliated company of Maxinvest AG (Tchibo
GmbH, Beiersdorf AG) as IT Sales and Services Specialist. Working nearly two decades as CIO for DBH/Hugendubel, a huge multimedia
Retailer with branch offices in Europe, he became a Managing Partner at Paragon Data, the outsourced IT-division and took the responsibility of
the new foundation of two Data Centers, compliant with the rules and guidelines of the BSI, the German Federation Office for Information
Security.
