HISTORY1927- Philo Fransworth becomes first to

transmit apicture over the air.1930- Patent for the first eletronic

television.1932- Vladimir discovers means of

converting light rays into electronic signals.

16 Aug 1944- A demonstration was the first example of a practial colour Television.

History of Television in INDIA1959- Television started in India as an

experiment.1976- Doordarshan becomes a separate

department.1982- Doordarshan starts national

coverage & colour transmission for the first time.

1983- Huge expansion of Doordarshan.1997- Establishment of Prasar Bharati.1990's- Advent of private TV channels in

India.
