I just want to thank everyone on the Arts Magnet Advisory Board and specifically everyone who works with
the HUT Fund. I have had amazing opportunities that would not have been imaginable if it wasn’t for your support over the last three years!
I have been to Pittsburgh, Seattle, New York City and most recently Steamboat Springs, all with
your financial aid. You have also helped me pay for technical supplies to aid me in my time at Booker T. and the many years that follow. I have taken after
school ballet classes which truly helped me with my dance technique. I know
for a fact that without these experiences, I wouldn’t be the artist or the person I am today! Thank you so
much for all you have done for me and the Students at Booker T! I am truly grateful!
Thank you so much...

WHAT NOW?
Senior year was very rewarding for me. Through application and audition I was accepted into New York University, Point Park University, State University of New York at Purchase, and the Boston Conservatory, but after lots of prayers, thoughts and college visits thanks to the HUT Fund, I can now say that I am a proud `RAM at Fordham University in Lincoln Center as part of the Alvin Ailey/Fordham BFA program. This selective program accepts only 25 dancers a year and I am so fortunate to be one of them. I received $15,000 in artistic merit scholarships, $33,000 in academic performance scholarships, and I am a proud recipient of the 2013 Thompson and Knight scholarship which allowed me to pay nothing out of pocket for my Freshmen year of college.
After all the hard work, I finally walked across the Meyerson stage on June 3rd and received my diploma from the best school in the world, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. My senior year would have not have been as successful without all of your help and I can not thank you enough! I will never forget you and your generous contributions. Thank you so much!
Artfully Yours,
Antuan Byers
