The Exalted Ruler’s Message
Hello one and all,
October in all its splendor is wrapping up as I
write this letter and anyone who is able, should take
a ride through the mountains and enjoy the many shades of color before it is gone and we have a
white blanket.
Because of the timing and all of the games and Jamborees going on at the same time, we only ended up with 5 players from our
Lodge area attending the Elks State Soccer Shoot in St. Albans on the 16th of
October. The players that were able to make it were: Noah Rubman, Issac Rubman, Davis Line, Ava Line and Jaden Coppins. Many thanks go out to Brian
and Angie Norris for co-chairing the Elks Soccer Shoot for Burlington Lodge
916. Many thanks also go out to the volunteers who helped out at our local shoot: Brian and Angie Norris, Gary and Denise Russ, Skip and Mary Barton,
Steve Whitehouse, Candy Bartlett, Thomas Deal, Brandon Hayes and Rosaire
Longe. After the shoot was done Noah Rubman helped us pick everything up.
Coming up in November we have the Veterans Day luncheon at the Lodge on
the 11th. We have the lighting of the Lodge and Karaoke with Wes and Sally
Blair on Friday the 25th, the day after Thanksgiving. Why not plan on coming in for a meal and a good time?
Thanksgiving bags are available at the Lodge, lets help out those less
fortunate.
Just to remind everyone that Silver Towers Calendars are available at $20.00
a piece with winners every day of the year, anyone interested please let me know.
Everyone be safe in your travels and stay healthy.
With Sincere Thanks,
Gary Bartlett, Exalted Ruler - BPOE #916

Elks Memorial Service Sunday, December 4, 2016, 1:00 PM
The first Sunday in December is dedicated to the memory of our
departed Elks Members. In keeping with this beautiful tradition, we will hold our annual Elks Memorial Day Service on Sunday, De-
cember 4th at 1 pm. The families of our departed members will be
attending as we memorialize their loved ones by lighting individual
candles in their memory, and calling out their names.
It is fitting that we as Elks, in the brotherhood of Elkdom, honor
those gone before us as “Elks are never forgotten, never forsaken”.
Exalted Ruler, Gary Bartlett and the Lodge Officers will be conduct-
ing a special ceremony along with the Green Mt. Chorus, and repre-
sentatives from the 158 Fighter Wing (USAF) as we remember,
each in our own way, the warm smile, the reassuring look, and the
comfortable touch of those we held dear. This service is open to
the public and all members and guests are encouraged to attend. A complimentary buffet luncheon will follow the ceremony. Please
join us as we honor our deceased Elks brothers and sisters.
