But this hike in fuel price invented many fuel
alternatives to cater the demand.
Bio - Ethanol
Bio-ethanol works just like petrol but made of from high
sugar content like
sugar cane
sugar beet
Corn
Cereals etc.
As per EPA, vehicles can either run on 100% ethanol
or 15% gasoline and 85% ethanol, any one of the
alternatives.
Bio-Diesel
This fuel is also called the green alternative or clean energy .
The biodiesel using vehicles rely solely on high compression process of fuel ignition for generating energy.
The vehicle extracts more energy by using bio-diesel
rather than gasoline
Compressed Natural Gas
The other alternative energy source that can be used as
fuel in internal combustion engines..
It can be used directly or by combining with
diesel that is called dual fuel.
The foremost advantage of using natural gas is the lesser emission of mono-nitrogen oxide (NOx) and other pollution making particulates than diesel produces.
Air is compressed in high-pressure tube & mixed with gasoline and the combination is ignited to generate power .
Compressed air vehicles don’t use only air but they have also electric motors for producing the energy.
Though Compressed air vehicles also need to charge
but take much less time than electric vehicles.
Hydrogen Fuel
Hydrogen fuel is used in vehicles to produce less
emission or zero-emission
In fuel cell vehicle, the hydrogen and oxygen are combined and produces electric energy and the byproduct is water vapor rather than harmful
emission.
The electric alternative invention helps to reduce the dependency on gasoline in a broad way
The hybrids are always combined the petrol or diesel engine with an electric engine; means they have
installed 2 drivetrains .
The electric vehicles are very useful for city stop and go traffic as they use less fuel and emit less CO2
