It’s the Christmas Eve. At the North Pole

everyone’s hurrying. The elves are putting the

Christmas presents into the sleigh. Santa’s working

at a special present for his wife. Rudolph’s

coordinating the elves.

RUDOLPH: You, Jimmy, you should wrap that car

red wrapping paper. You, Mandy, you will put that

doll in a pink box. Hurry up, guys!

HARRY: Hey Rudolph where am I going to put this

shell?

RUDOLPH: Hmm, let me ask Prencer. Prencer, did

you put this present on the list?

PRENCER: What present are you talking about?

I’ve put every present on the list.

DANCER: Let me see the present Rudolph! And the

list… I can’t see any shell on the list. Let’s ask

Santa.

HARRY: But he’s busy now!

DASHER: Yes, but he cares a lot about his

Christmas presents.

PRENCER: Then let’s try and ask Santa’s wife.

Rudolph and his friends started to walk through the

big toys.

They arrived in front of a big door and Prencer

knocked slowly: “Knock, knock”.

PRENCER: We would like to speak to you.

MRS. CHRISTMAS: Yes, my dear.

RUDOLPH: I found this shell in Santa’s bag.

MRS. CHRISTMAS: Hmmm, I’ve never seen it

before. You can go to ask him about it.

DANCER: Thank you, but he will get upset if we

interrupt him.

MRS. CHRISTMAS: I’m sorry,

but I can’t help you.

Rudolph was very nervous and his red nose started glowing. After he went round and round for a few minutes, he came up with an idea.

RUDOLPH: I’ve got an idea. We should ask the other

reindeer. What do you think about it?

ALL: Ok.

MANDY: Let’s go.

In a short time they arrived.

MANDY: Noses up reindeer!

CUPID: Mandy!!! Are we going anywhere?

In the next second Dasher opened his mouth and said:

DASHER: No, we aren’t, but….

And Santa entered the front door.

SANTA: Ho, ho, ho, did anyone find a blue shiny shell?

DONER: Aaa……Santa….

SANTA: Doner, wait a second!

DONER: Ok, Santa.

CUPID: Continue Santa. We would like to hear.

Cupid is making loops with its tail.

SANTA: So, can you help me, please?

JIMMY: Yes, we can now, because we solved the

mystery.

COMET: What mystery?

Page 5: The Mystery of the Shell a Christmas story (English language project for EFL learners)

JIMMY: The mystery of the shell! Rudolph found a

shell in Santa’s bag and it wasn’t on the list.

COMET: We are so sorry, Santa! Take the shell! It’s

not too late to give it to Mrs. Christmas! We’ve got to

be ready for the big flight and it will be better to go to

train ourselves.

They’re just 6 more hours until Christmas night.

Santa’s put his red costume on. The reindeer and his

sleight are ready to go. Mrs. Christmas has received

the beautiful present. Now he’s saying goodbye to his

elves and to his helpers.

SANTA: Thank you, all!

HARRY: Goodbye, Santa!

MANDY: Goodbye, Santa! Have a nice flight!

JIMMY: Goodbye, Santa!

SANTA: I will miss you. Bye!

See you soon! Now, I’ve got to gooo!!!!

All: Bye-bye!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
