The Titan Tell-All is a bi-weekly newsletter highlighting the awesome instruction and events going on around TSMS. There are SO many great things going on, it is hard to catch them all! If you, or someone you know, has an outstanding idea that should be showcased, please let Ashley Roberts know! PE students in Coach Kilian’s class use QR codes to get health information and hopefully BINGO! Students are engaged with technology and movement from station to station throughout the gym.

Mrs. Newman insures that all students participate and collaborate in this literature activity by giving each student a different color marker and expecting to see all 4 colors on the poster.

In 8th grade math classes, students think critically to defend their position during philosophical chairs. The debate included a pre-write prediction and post-write follow-up. An element of inquiry was also involved when students created their own cylinders.

Coach Flood provides immediate and corrective feedback to individual students using the WISE app and website. Scantrons are generated and graded all from his phone in a matter of seconds. Data reports are also produced.

Another alternative to Coach Flood’s method is GradeCam. A free website that produces and grades scantrons using your document camera. Item Analysis and other reports can also be produced with the click of a button. Talk about using assessment to diagnose student needs!

IMPROVEMENT 8th grade scientist are already using this month’s quality tool in class. The scatter diagram is used to demonstrate correlations between two variables. In this case, the brightness of a star to it’s temperature. Based on your FEEDBACK, the Fieldhouse is now equipped with a whiteboard and dry-erase markers for collaboration of department and teams.
