the-art facilities for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovasular Life Support(ACLS) systems. In the wake of increasing incidence of heart problems, skilled manpowerto handle such cases is imperative. Schools & colleges of nursing, hospitals and healthcare organisations may consider deploying their staff/ faculty and students to participatein the short-term training programmes at TNAI so as to hone up their skills in these life-saving procedures. For details please refer TNAI website, and recent issues of TNAI Bulletinand NJI.

A health day of concern to nurses in the month is World Hepatitis Day (WHD) on 28July, this year’s theme being Eliminate Hepatitis. The toughest challenge to manage hepa-titis is ignorance of those living with it. Out of the 325 million people living with viral
hepatitis the world over, more than 300 mil-lion (90%) are unaware that they are livingwith the hepatitis B or hepatitis C. Scaling upthe awareness and the diagnostic facilities istherefore top priority, otherwise it may not bepossible to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030.On WHD, campaigns are launched to raiseawareness of viral hepatitis, increase testingboth at individual and policy level and improvelinkage to care and treatment.Advice to SNA Units: It is learnt that some SNAUnits have not yet sent their subscription forthe year 2017-18 to TNAI Hqrs. All such Unitsare requested to kindly settle their dues by 31July 2018.
