Kathy Cassidy Kathy teaches a class of 6 year
olds in Moose Jaw, Canada who are inviting the world into their classroom to help them learn.
In her class they call fluency “reading smoothly”. She had her students each write about their reading & then
recorded each of them reading a couple of pages and posted it online. Kathy has also established blogging
buddies, where pre-teachers in college read & comment on her student’s blogs. This enables the students to
receive feedback as well as help the soon-to-be teachers see ways of using blogging with their classrooms.
