About meI am a recent graduate seeking

to start a career within the design industry. I am seeking a consultan-cy where common sense, a sense of humour and a “can do” attitude is appreciated.

I thoroughly enjoyed studying Product Design at University, and look forward to making the transi-tion from an educational stance to gaining hands on experience of the working realities of a commercial brief.

I currently live in London, but would be willing to relocate if the right opportunity was presented.

Academic QualificationsProduct Design BA (Hons) (2:1)Leeds Metropolitan University The course specialised on de-

signing and developing bespoke concept solutions, often for live cli-ents from the initial concept right the way through to development for industry production.

Marketing and advertisement con-

siderations were taken into account throughout all development stages.

Concept visualisations were pro-duced using computer aided design programs such as 3Ds Studio Max, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. A major part of the course involved conducting primary user testing, analysing the data and incorporat-ing the findings within the devel-oped solution.

Employment HistoryBeyond StockAccount Executive

In between University summers I worked as an Account Executive for an EPOS company in Putney. The role entailed independently ac-quiring leads, client handling and conducting contract negotiations

Frequently I was tasked to con-duct client presentations, attend trade shows and client premises for contract negotiations and software demonstrations.

I often assist the Support team with administrative duties when required, and assist the manage-ment of the Internal CRM to en-sure ongoing cases were tracked and client projects were resolved.

I enjoyed the fast paced nature of the role and the freedom permitted from the Managing Director when negotiating with clients.

Afghanistan3rd Battalion The Rifles

I served with the 3rd Battalion The Rifles, in Afghanistan on a seven month operational tour of Afghani-stan. I spent my tour in a Forward Operating Base in Helmand prov-ince, as an infantry soldier.

My role was to clear safe paths for my platoon by locating con-cealed Improvised Explosive De-vices (IEDs). My experiences in Afghanistan have taught me how to manage stressful situations, and work productively within extreme working constraints.

Army Careers OfficeArmy Recruiter

My role was as the Territorial Army Liaison Officer at central Lon-don’s main Army recruiting office. The role involved recruiting for the Regular and Territorial Army, often by attending recruitment events at schools and employment exhibi-tions.

Edu SpiceEducate and encourage the use of fresh produce

EduSpice is a spice rack de-signed to educate and encour-

age young professionals to develop their culinary skills and prepare food from fresh produce.

EduSpice’s concept lies within its graphical key placed on top of each spice lid. The key visually reassures and guides the user through stages in order to encourage the exper-imentation of creating new meal.

Graphical food guide

The first stage is to decide what type of meal you are cooking. Once decided the graphical image on top of each pot will identify what food type goes well with that spice e.g. Chicken, Beef and Vegetables.

Recommended intermix list

Beneath each lid is a list of what that spice can inter mix with. This system is designed to essentially provide a supervisory figure, in an effort to encourage creativity with-in a pre-defined series of parame-ters so that the risk of an accident and subsequently ruined meal is minimalized, almost recreating the supervisory support usual accus-tomed from a parental source.

“The graphical guide mentors users through physical steps that allow them to create meals not previously considered.

Simplicity WorksSuistainable packaging re design

Simplicity works is a packaging design focusing on the transpor-

tation of four 33cl bottles. Sustain-ability is at the heart of the design, conventionally drinks packaging is smothered in an excessive amount of cardboard,

I don’t believe this is either the sustainable or ethical route the food or drinks market should be following, and as a result decided to re-design the existing packaging for Sol beer.

My aim was simple; design an in-novative sustainable answer which is not only cost effective, convenient and relevant but actually a simple solution that works.

Refined design 400cm2 of cardbord

The target beer chosen was Sol, the material was maintained as 100% cardboard but was modified to produce a more minimalistic design with reduced surface area.

The re design focused on the structural integrity of the casing in contrast to the previous designs which focused on providing a large means for advertising. The rationale behind this decision derived from the belief that the bottles aptly ad-vertised themselves and the pack-aging should merely be a means of secure transportation.

The common problem amongst existing designs on the market were that they all have the same fault; once one bottle was removed the integrity of the design collapsed, bottles would no longer be secure often resulting in them falling out. The negative implications of such an action are that consumer confi-

Current design 792cm2 of cardboard

dence could diminish, followed by brand image and ultimately sales.

I believed this product failure was unacceptable, so did something about it; the new design features in-dividual supports per drink allowing the user to consume his beverage at one location and subsequently transports the remainder as a group safely to the following destination.

SteriPrepTommee Tippee Live Client Brief

SteriPrep was designed as part of a live client brief set by the Tom-

mee Tippee franchise. SteriPrep of-fers parents the means to sterilise powdered baby formula, and warm fresh milk to your baby’s favoured palatable temperature via a safe, fast and efficient means within a mobile environment.

The product works by attaching your existing bottle with the liquid content inside to the SteriPrep base unit. Once attached retract the pow-er supply pins from the power sup-ply unit and unravel the external coiled wire.

Connect the mains power supply to a power socket, attach the coiled wire to the base unit with bottle at-tached. Place the base unit on a flat solid surface to ensure the heating element is fully enclosed in liquid.

SteriPrep Casing

Select either the left button on the power supply for 70oc or the right for 30oc. 70c is the medically rec-ommended temperature to remove harmful bacteria from powdered baby formula, 30oc is the recom-mended palatable temperature for fresh milk.

Once your baby’s feed has been successfully prepared, SteriPrep can be fully dismantled to allow ease of clean and sterilisation amongst your existing baby products and is fully dishwasher safe.

3D Printed Mockup

No longer are there the worries associated with providing a clean safe feeds outside the comfort of your own home. SteriPrep provides you with the peace of mind that you baby is receiving the finest bottled feed available to them.

PlayTipInnfluence the next genera-tions recycling habits

26 Billion Water bottles are thrown away each year, of which only

20% are recycled; the remainder go into landfills situated in foreign countries or the Ocean.

PlayTIP’s aim is to influence the next generation of children’s recy-cling habits, in order to promote a greener and more sustainable fu-ture. Children are the key to a sus-tainable future; their impressionable minds allow there routines to be altered permanently, in contrast to adults who are predominantly stuck in their ways.

Therefore the developed design will be aimed for children below the age of twelve.

The concept is to reproduce a

landfill made out of recycled water

“ You wouldn’t have your children play in rubbish, so why should they?

bottles but in the form of a port-able children’s playground, The eyesore of a landfill permanently on display is a reality for many foreign countries such as the Nehru Nagar slums in India, by recreating this in a western environment hopefully children will question their parents on why such a design is in their city and as a reusult build awareness of the problem and promote the easily manageable solutions that every-one can participate in.

The desired outcome is to shock the western world by the image of their own children playing with

in “rubbish”, and by engaging the children with leading a sustainable lifestyle at a young age; ideally they will continue to recycle bottles throughout their lifetime.

PlayTIP will tour the United King-dom at six week intervals. Once the message has been received the playground can move to a new location, and educate new users to the damage caused by not recycling plastic water bottles. The entire ap-paratus will be manufactured from plastic recycled from melted down bottles, and reformed to produce the apparatus.
