Summer Job Leads To Career

From YCC
First Day On The Job
I will always remember my first day at work. The former Project Leader, Jeff Powell, had us YCC students washing rocks.
My initial work period as YCC was supposed to be from June 4, 2012 to July 27, 2012. After an extension, I finished off working YCC from June 4, 2012 to October 5, 2012.
Volunteer at the Mora NFH
I began volunteering at the hatchery on October 8, 2012 to November 2, 2012.
Emergency Hire
I started as an Emergency Hire from November 6, 2012 to January 4, 2013.
Volunteering once again
I returned as volunteer at the hatchery on January 7, 2013 to March 1, 2013.
Hired on as a Biological Science Aid
I got hired on as a Biological Science Aid on March 4, 2013 and I am still currently on the same position.
Detail to Dexter, NM
I went on a one week detail to the Southwestern Native Aquatic Resources & Recovery Center in July 2014.
Detail to Tishomingo, OK
I went on a one week work detail to the Tishomingo National Fish Hatchery in July 2015.
I graduated with my Associates Degree in General Science from Luna Community College in May 2015.
I will be transferring to Eastern New Mexico University this coming fall semester of 2015 to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree in Fish and Wildlife Management.
After I graduate I hope there will be fish biologist positions open at either of these hatcheries.
I would like to work at Gavins Point to work with Jeff Powell, the former Project Leader again.
My main goal is to become the Project Leader at the Mora National Fish Hatchery
