- 1. Trudy BellingerThis is a case study on the work of Trudy
Bellinger
2. Examples of Trudys work
- Trudy has produced a number of music videos such as;
- Sophie Ellis Bextor I wont change you
- Girls Aloud Il stand by you
- Body Rockers I like the way you move
3. Examples of Trudys work 4. Trudys Visual Style
- Trudys strengths lie within the beautifully developed
restricted colour palettes, the stylised fashion details,
flattering beauty lighting and her choreography, that we see in all
of her music videos.
- Her work is also very stylised, cool and contempory, beauty
with an edge.
- When looking at the videos she has produced you can see a
number of these elements throughout.
5. The artists & bands she has worked with

6. Artists & bands Trudys worked with 7. Genre of Trudys
work
- Trudy tends to work with artists in the charts so we could say
that she specialises in the pop genre of music videos.
- She also produces mainstream videos for well known bands that I
have already mentioned.
- The videos that she has made appear on shows such as MTV, also
in 2007 her video for the Girls Aloud song Sexy No No No won the
virgin media award for best video.
8. Trudys editing style
- Trudy doesnt tend to use much live performance within her music
video but in stead she uses choreographed videos with good lighting
and a set location in which she has chosen.
- In some of her videos she uses either the lyrics or another
element for example a consistent clap in the music and trys to turn
this visual within the video.
9. Trudys editing style
- This is a screen grab from the video Mamma Do by Pixie Lott.
You can see that it is a location shot music video and many of
Trudys videos are made in the same way.
10. Trudys editing style
- Her editing is also used to fit with the music for instance in
the Pixie Lott video the editing is very quick with a lot of cuts
and quick snappy changes of viewpoint. Where as in the Girls Aloud
video it is slow paced and there are not as many changes of
viewpoint but when there is they are slow to fit with the
music.
11. Why I like her work
- I like Trudys work as it is very controversial and is something
that we are always seeing on the TV. In her videos she always makes
the visuals link in with the lyrics in order for the audience to
relate to it more. Her work also makes the songs more memorable and
they are videos that you will talk about with your friends.
12. Inspiration
- Trudys work has inspired my choices for how I want to style and
make my music video as I feel that her work is used in quite a lot
of the music videos I like and also because I like the way in which
she films, edits and styles her videos as they always have a
relevance to the song. I also want to use the same style as she
does as her work is always cool and contempory but with an edge at
the same time.
