UDHR ICESCR
Art. 1. All human beings are born
free and equal in dignity and
rights. They are endoed ith
reason and !ons!ien!e and should
a!t toards one another in a s"iritof brotherhood.
Art. 1. #1$ All peoples have the right of
self-determination. By virtue of that
right they freely determine their
political status and freely pursue their
economic, social and culturaldevelopment.Art. %. #1$ E&eryone is entitled to
all the rights and freedoms set
forth in this De!laration' ithout
distin!tion of any (ind' su!h as
ra!e' !olour' se)' language'
religion' "oliti!al or other o"inion'
national or so!ial origin' "ro"erty'
birth or other status.
Art. %. #%$ The States Parties to the
present Covenant undertake to
guarantee that the rights enunciated in
the present Covenant will e e!ercised
without discrimination of any kind as to
race, colour, se!, language, religion,
political or other opinion, national or
social origin, property, irth or other
status.Art. *. All are equal before the la
and are entitled ithout any
dis!rimination to equal "rote!tion
of the la. All are entitled to equal
"rote!tion against any
dis!rimination in &iolation of this
De!laration and against any
in!itement to su!h dis!rimination.
Art. +. The States Parties to the
present Covenant undertake to ensure
the e"ual right of men and women to
the en#oyment of all economic, social
and cultural rights set forth in the
present Covenant.
Art. %, #%$ In the e)er!ise of his
rights and freedoms' e&eryone
shall be sub-e!t only to su!h
limitations as are determined by

res"e!t for the rights and freedoms
of others and of meeting the -ust

Art. . The States Parties to the
present Covenant recogni$e that, in the
en#oyment of those rights provided y
the State in conformity with the present
Covenant, the State may su#ect rightsonly to such limitations as are
determined y law only in so far as this
may e compatile with the nature of
these rights and solely for the purpose
of promoting the general welfare in a
democratic society.Art. +/. 0othing in this De!laration
may be inter"reted as im"lying for
any State' grou" or "erson any
right to engage in any a!ti&ity or to
"erform any a!t aimed at thedestru!tion of any of the rights and
freedoms set forth herein.
Art. . %othing in the present
Covenant may e interpreted as
implying for any State, group or person
any right to engage in any activity or to
perform any act aimed at thedestruction of any of the rights and
freedoms recogni$ed herein, or at their
limitation to a greater e!tent than is
provided for in the present Covenant.Art. %+. #1$ E&eryone has the right

present Covenant recogni$e the right of everyone to the en#oyment of #ust and
favourale conditions of work which
ensure in, particular&

workers, as a minimum with&
'i( *air wages and e"ual remuneration
for work of e"ual value without
distinction of any kind, in particular
women eing guaranteed conditions of
work not inferior to those en#oyed y
men, with e"ual pay for e"ual work+

their families in accordance with the
provisions of the present Covenant+
'( Safe and healthy working
conditions+
'c( "ual opportunity for everyone to e
promoted in his employment to an
appropriate higher level, su#ect to noconsiderations other than those of
seniority and competence+
