Welcome to Miromaa Unique Spaces
At Miromaa we have available spaces that will immerse you in indigenous culture and history. Our unique spaces are within one of the few Aboriginal Language Centres in Australia and offers a culturally appropriate environment for your next meeting, event, mini conference, small function or workshop.
We are located at 840 Hunter St Newcastle West and situated on level 1 we have two rooms available the Wakoolba room and the Bulowaraba room.
Both rooms are fully equipped with audio-visual technology with the capacity to support up to 30 people (theatre style).
Within our building you will have the opportunity to view rare items including artefacts, original artwork and delicate books in our rare book library which holds items nearly 200 years old and can only be found in the Australian National Library.
We are offering these spaces for hire at an affordable price, with morning tea or afternoon tea options available.
Our building has full disability access with an elevator and disability lift chair, we also have baby change facilities for your convenience.
On ground level we have a coffee shop for your enjoyment, as well as our indigenous gift shop which features an array of traditional and modern inspired giftware, homewares, instruments, artworks, books, stationary, jewellery and much more.
We welcome you to come view our unique spaces and see for yourself the cultural experience we have on offer.

Terms and conditions
Deposit and confirmation50% deposit is required on confirmation of booking. Final 50% payment is due 10 days prior to your scheduled event date.
Final DetailsTo ensure your requirements are met, it is necessary for us to have a minimum of 14 days’ notice of your confirmed function schedule and audio visual requirements.
Function TimingThe client agrees to begin the event at the scheduled time, and agrees to have guests and delegates vacate the designated event rooms by the agreed completion time.
Cancellation policyA 50% cancellation fee will be applied if your event is cancelled within 7 days prior to your scheduled start date.
Credit Card SurchargeAll payments through credit cards will attract 2.0% surcharge fee. Please note that credit card fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation.
Special EffectsSpecial effects cannot be operated without prior written authority should the fire brigade respond to an alarm set off by the unauthorized uses of special effects, the client will be liable for any charges incurred.
Content of the EventIf we have reason to believe that a event will affect the smooth running of our business, security or reputation, the management and staff reserve the right to cancel at its discretion, without notice or liability.
Responsible behavior Clients will be responsible to ensure the orderly behavior of their guests, we reserve the right to intervene where it is seen fit.
CleaningGeneral and normal cleaning is included in the cost of the event. In instances where the event has created cleaning requirements that are considered by us to be over and above normal cleaning, the client will pay
for additional costs.
