The Rotary Club of Reservoir Hills held a Womenʼs Day programme at the Winchester Hall, on Saturday. The event was filled with inspirational talks and exciting activities. Local comedianand entertainer, Bash with Tash, was present at the event and kept the audience in stitches. There were many great prizes given away. The event concluded with a delicious lunch. Seenare members of the Rotary Club of Reservoir Hills.

Ahmed Al-Kadi Private Hospital (AAKPH) hasagain teamed up with the Islamic Medical Asso-ciation of SA (IMASA), Baytul Nur Trust togive the ‘Gift of Sight’ to four financially chal-lenged pre-selected women this NationalWomen’s Month (August). The hospital furtherextended the gesture to four financially chal-lenged men as well.“Whilst we may be helping give the gift of sight,the true gift is being a part of this special initia-tive with Ahmed Al-Kadi Private Hospital andthe Islamic Medical Association of South

Africa,” said hospital manager of AAKPH,Ahmed Docrat. “These pre-selected womenhave been on the public sector waiting list forquite some time and we feel privileged to be ableto step in and assist in giving the gift of sightwhich many take for granted,” he said.“The Staff, Management and Board of Directorsof Ahmed Al-Kadi Private look forward to beingpart of this fantastic project which seeks to ben-efit those who find it difficult accessing essentialhealthcare,” said chairman of the Board of Di-rectors, Solly Suleman.

Shirin Cassim (IMASA Durban Office manager), Yasiera Mahomed (IMASA Durban CataractProject Co-ordinator), Sr Shana Balwanth , Sr Kerry Taylor, Solly Suleman (Chairman of theBoard AAK), Razanda Govender, Patricia, Ursula (front row seated) Fazila Mustapha, HawaEbrahim and Shahaadat Khan were some of the patients who received their cataract proce-dures at this camp.

The cataract camp was held over the first week-end of August at the AAKH, situated inMayville. The cataract extractions will be per-formed with the experienced skills of SpecialistOphthalmologists Dr M Khan as well as thenursing team of AAK.Fazila Mustapha, one of the beneficiaries of thecataract camp, said, “It has been a wonderful ex-perience. The hospital staff have really been kindand taken such good care of us all. Even theIMA people are so kind. God bless them.”“I found out I needed a cataract over a year agoand I have been waiting. I am so happy to havecome here for this operation. Now I can see bet-ter and take better care of my late daughter’s twochildren. Thank you to all for helping me. Es-
