FEEL• There are a lot of problems around us which need to be
addressed. We brainstormed about the various problems and issues around us.
• Finally after pooling in all the ideas, we decided to do our bit to help the planet.
• We observed that after plastic bags had been recently banned in shops and shopping malls, people were finding it difficult to conveniently carry things around.
• We decided that we would try to address this issue and do our bit to help people and the environment.
IMAGINE• Once we had decided to the topic, we discussed about
how to put it into practice.
• Various options were thought of – making paper bagsmaking cloth bagsa rally to create awareness
• We decided to make five cloth bags per student using old cloth (reuse and recycle) which we would gift to neighbours. All the students of our class worked together to make the cloth bags.
DO• Under the guidance of
our teachers we made bags in the school.
• We all made cloth bags in the last two periods on two days- i.e., 27th and 28th.
• Our teachers gave us worksheets for follow up.

• To make the project more effective we decided to do follow-up on the use of these bags.
• For this we prepared a worksheet which each student would use to track the use of cloth bags as well as plastic bags for 5 days.

• When we gifted the cloth bags to five families we told them about the hazards of using plastic bags. All the people co-operated and agreed to use those bags.
• For five days, we went to these homes in the evening to find out how many times the cloth and plastic bags had been used.

• The people co-operated and even encouraged us.
• We tried to bring in change, but in the process we also changed. We learnt the values of sharing, collaboration and the importance of work.
