Week 9 Term 3, 10th September 2014 Dear Parents, Sue Mackay Principal
Quote for the Week:
Week 9 Term 3, 14th September 2016 Dear Parents,
The Roads and Maritime Services have been investigating a Coffs Harbour Bypass since 2001. Now fifteen years later,
with the preferred bypass route confirmed and much of the Pacific Highway upgrade completed, it is our turn.
Many of our community will have taken the opportunity to attend one of the consultation meetings which have occurred
over the last couple of weeks, with regards to the Coffs Harbour Bypass Planning. On Monday the R.M.S. were in
attendance at the school, showing detailed plans of the highway proposed upgrade and the impact upon Kororo Public
School. As you might well imagine, as this section of the highway is so narrow, the highway and infrastructure changes
have the potential to be quite significant for the Kororo School community and the Korora community in general.
At the P & C meeting on Monday evening, the plans will be on display and information about the consultation will be
discussed. The plans will also be on display at the school hall from Friday of this week for your perusal. The R.M.S. are
genuinely seeking opinions and feedback from our community. There are a couple of ways that this can be done.
Send in your written feedback to the school office in a clearly marked envelope, the information will be collated at
the school end and forward to the R.M.S.
Email your feedback directly to the highway bypass consultation team at [email protected]
It is vitally important for our school that our voices and ideas are heard as the long
term impact for Kororo Public School will be significant. Please come and have a look at the
plans and see what you think. Put your ideas in writing and submit them using one of the
two methods above. The consultation period for the school will close on October 26th 2016.
Please make your opinions and ideas known by responding to the consultation process.
Have a fabulous week,
Sue Mackay
Principal

Years 3 & 4 Excursions to Yarrahapinni and Port Macquarie
Last week, Year 3 and 4 had a great time on their excursions to Yarrahapinni and Port Macquarie. Year 3 children enjoyed a rope challenge course that tested their ability to work as a team and were rewarded for their success with some fun down a fast, windy, waterslide.
A highlight for Year 4 was visiting Timbertown, where they went gold panning and watched a bullock show. They also loved exploring the Billabong Park Zoo. A special thanks to our excursion coordinators Mrs White and Mrs Hartmann for all their hard work in organising the excursions and to all of the other teachers and SLSOs who assisted.

Src mufti day
The SRC are holding a fundraiser
next Wednesday, 21st September. We
are hoping to raise enough funds to
purchase some much needed new
flags for our Sport House teams and
replace our old and tired basketball
rings.
Students are asked
to come dressed in
their favourite sports clothes and
bring a gold coin donation.
KINDERGARTEN BUTTERFLY HOUSE EXCURSION
Last Tuesday Kindergarten went to the Butterfly House as part of their Growing and Changing unit. The children had a wonderful time finding their way through the maze, gardening, learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and looking at the beautiful butterflies.
A huge thank you to our sponsors. They support us, please support them.
