For the fifth year, West Projections and Victoria Universityjoin forces to create an evocative atmosphere in thestreets of Melbourne’s inner west by illuminating creativespaces, VU campuses, businesses and public places. In 2018 West Projections continues in Footscray andexpands to include Seddon and West Footscray.

Our guided walks take on a literary flavour this yearwith the theme non/FICTION exploring the translucentparameters and hazy borders of communication,language and interpretation. In an age of accessible andinstant technology, we are all writers, photographersand reporters; disseminating information at anaccelerated rate to a global audience.

The program features a series of curated walks,a launch event in Nicholson Street Mall and Speak Easy in West Footscray, and much more. Come and experience Footscray and surrounds afterdark as you have never seen it before.

Once again, Victoria University and Victoria UniversityPolytechnic are proud to be supporting the WestProjections Festival. This landmark event provides anexciting platform for collaboration with VU staff andstudents in public art, interactive media, coding and visualcommunications; with Certificate IV Screen and Mediastudents and Bachelor of Creative Industries studentsprojecting their work at various sites across the program.

Through ongoing support from Maribyrnong City Council’sFestival City Program, this gem of a festival continuesto shine.

West Projections Festival and Victoria University acknowledge the traditional owners of this land, The Kulin Nation. We offer our respects to Elders past, present and future and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
