About our school programsCultural Infusion brings presenters from diverse cultural backgrounds to
schools around Australia. We reach rural and urban areas and regularly tour our
programs to make sure everybody has the opportunity to experience and value
cultural diversity. We offer programs for Pre-School, Primary and Secondary
levels and with 120+ programs we address a range of curriculum areas.
Program fees
In addition to the program fees stated in this brochure, a travel fee may
be charged to schools located outside the metropolitan area to cover
additional accommodation and transportation costs.
Minimum student numbers
Programs can run for less than the minimum student numbers,
however the minimum fee will usually still apply. You are encouraged
to combine with other schools in your area in order to boost your
numbers. We know that some schools will have needs that do not fit
neatly into our usual categories, so please feel free to call us, and we
will endeavour to assist, or to tailor programs to suit your needs.
We are very proud to announce that Cultural Infusion is now an official partner
of the Australian National Commission for UNESCO, representing the United
Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Australia.
At Cultural Infusion, we strive to realise our vision of a world that is culturally
and socially cohesive, and that values the richness of our collective cultural
heritage. We have always advocated the importance of intercultural education,
a sentiment that is now being echoed across the education sector.
The new Australian Curriculum emphasise that “intercultural understanding
assists young people to become responsible local and global citizens, equipped
through their education for living and working in an interconnected world.”
For many years we have worked hard with school communities and cultural
presenters to deliver engaging programs, and have now become the number
one cultural incursion provider in Australia. But we know that this is only the
beginning, and are always working to improve our program offerings.
Our latest innovation is Ancestry Atlas, a powerful digital tool for mapping
the cultural diversity of a population and is designed to develop Intercultural
Understanding from K-12. Discover more at Ancestryatlas.com.

Connecting to your curriculum Intercultural Understanding is a General Capability in the Australian Curriculum
in which students learn to recognise and value their own cultural perspectives
and those of others, develop respect and empathy for diverse cultural
practices, and reflect on intercultural experiences critically.
• LANGUAGES: Students learn that communicating in a different language
also involves communicating between different cultures and ways of
knowing. Intercultural Understanding is integral to communicating in
diverse contexts and developing global citizenship.
• THE ARTS: Through engagement with art forms from culturally diverse
sources students appreciate and consider different identities, practices
and perspectives. Students explore their own positions as audiences,
artists and performers exploring new sounds, images and beliefs.
• GEOGRAPHY, HISTORY AND HASS: Students learn about the lives, places,
values, cultures and beliefs of people around the world. By exploring
Australia’s history, Indigenous cultures past and present, national identity
and cultural heritage students discover the value of cultural diversity and
learn to communicate across cultures.
• SCIENCE: Our ‘Science Communicator’ programs highlight the
contributions that diverse cultural perspectives have played in shaping
human progress and the development of scientific knowledge. Students
recognise that it takes culturally diverse teams of scientists to tackle global
issues.
