Project-Based Learning (PBL)Implementation Guide for 21st Century Education Leaders
Project-Based Learning is an instructional approach that combines authentic learning experiences with content and Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS) and essential communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity skills required for college and career readiness.
A project is comprised of eight essential components required for successful PBL design, assessment, and management.

PBL101 Training
•Registerateamforour4-daytrainingfocusedontheeight essential components of PBL including design, assessment, and management.
•Participantswillcollaborativelyworkthroughtheprocess of developing a project that is ready for immediate implementation with the help of our expert trainers.
•CompletedprojectswillbepostedandsharedonourPBL site to share regionally with other PBL schools for futureuse.Eachparticipantwillreceiveaworkbook,aPBL starter kit, and other instructional materials.
Full Implementation Coaching Districts can opt to purchase full implementation coaching, which includes:
•On-sitecoachingfor40daysoveracalendaryear.
•Coacheswillmeetmonthlywithteachersduringa½-day release time monthly to provide assistance with project design, assessment, management, implementation strategies, and instructional resources.
Customized Coaching School districts may choose to customize coaching for teachersimplementingPBLfor20-30on-sitedays.
PBL Regional Showcase PBL Trained teachers and administrators are invited to attend our end-of-the-year regional showcase to share their successful projects with others.
Turnkey the Training Another implementation strategy to transform the learning culture through the PBL process is to create a team of facilitators for building district capacity. Turnkey the Training provides coaching from our expert trainers in planning, assessing, and managing PBL implementation in the following format:
•PBL101 Training for Facilitators: Facilitatorswillattendour4-dayPBLtraining as a participant working through the process of planning, assessing, and managing a project.
•PBL101 Training Audit: Facilitatorswillobserveour4-dayPBL101trainingwith a focus on facilitating PBL with their colleagues in their district. Training materials will be provided.
•PBL Facilitator Coaching: Ourexperttrainerswillaudita4-daytrainingsessionled by the facilitators to support the implementation and training process.
•PBL Facilitator Reflection and Revision: ExperttrainerswillendtheTurnkeytheTrainingwithadayofreflectionandrevisionabout the PBL process and implementation.
