LED Lamps
Also known as a Light Emitting Diode Lamp, the light source is a highly efficient LED circuit that can convert more than 80% of the energy it uses into light - compare this to an incandescent lamp which only converts approx 10% of the energy it uses into light - 90% percent is lost in the form of heat.

What should I Consider when selecting my lamp?
Type of Lamp:
You will need to know the type of lamp i.e. A60, GU10, MR16 etc to ensure it is a match for the fitting it will be installed in.
Size of the Lamp:
Some higher wattage LED lamps are considerably larger than the halogen models they replace, take note of the size of the lamp you are replacing and the space available in your fitting before selecting your LED lamp.
Amount of Light Required:
Select an LED lamp that delivers your required lumen output.
Colour Temperature:
Are you looking for a warm white or cool white light.
Beam angle:
It is important to understand the beam angle as this will determine the spread of light.

what do you need
to knowWhy LED?
LED Lamps provide many benefits over
traditional light sources such as incandescent
and halogen.
LONG LIFE:
LED lamps can last up to 30,000 hrs and more… When compared to an incandescent or halogen lamp rated at between 1,000 and 3,000 hrs this is very impressive..
Less annoying lamp replacements!!!!
EFFICIENT:
Uses approximately 5 times less energy to deliver a similar light output. This means you could be saving up to 80% of the power you would normally use for lighting.
Make the change and reduce your
lighting bill…
LOW HEAT:
LED lamps can operate up to 70% cooler than traditional halogen and incandescent lamps, less heat means more energy is being converted into light, less heat also means less damage is being done to the lamp itself…
MERCURY FREE:
No mercury is required in the operation of an LED lamp.
Common Lighting Terms
Lumens:
Is a measure of the amount of light produced, also known as the Luminous flux. The higher the Lumen output the brighter the light.
Kelvin:
Refers to the colour of the light or the colour temperature. As an example 3000K would be Warm White, 6500 Kelvin would be referred to as Daylight.
Colour Rendering Index (CRI):
Is a measure used to indicate the lamps ability to reproduce the colours of various objects in comparison with a natural light source.
Wattage:
Is in effect a unit of power (electrical). The higher the wattage the more power the lamp uses.
