• There will be money for cancer and the allocation of those funds will be on the basis of ''equal opportunity for all'' who apply

• In December, the DG SANCO Work plan 2013 should be adopted (details still confidential)

• A new Joint Action on Cancer will come into being from 2014

• Regarding the Multi-Annual planning, DG SANCO still doesn't know the timing and the amount of money to be allocated

• A budget of €8.5billion is proposed for the ''Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing'' theme of Horizon 2020. This makes it the largest of Horizon 2020's social challenges

• EU funding for research and innovation will be unified into one programme

• The steps and procedures to apply (red tape) needed for organisations to apply and to access RTD funding, and to start the project, will be greatly simplified

What do we mean byScientific Consortium?

• Group of researchers deciding to work together with a common protocol of data collection

• Each researcher (or group of researchers) independently find national funds to subsidize data collection

• Funds for meetings, common database and common analysis should be found (with national or international sources)

• Similarly to the EUROCARE organisation
