What’s New in wMobile
• Update of Telerik Framework, used to build wMobile, which has resolved display issues found in Edge, on iPads etc.
• Change in Default User Options and Users Options for user’s mobile phone setting (used in merge forms and used for SMS notifications)
• Email account setting for TLS
© W-Systems Corp. www.w-systems.com© W-Systems Corp. www.w-systems.com
Default User OptionsThere are now user settings for both PhoneNumber and Mobile.
Mobile is the phone number that will be used for SMS texts.
These user settings will also be used in wMobile merge forms, which will be addressed with wMobile Desktop changes.

TLS in Email Settings
• In GoldMine, there are separate settings for TLS and SSL. In wMobile, there’s only one. The wMobile email client will try to use TLS first, but if it’s not detected on the server, it will then default to SSL. (SSL 3.0 was created in 1996. TLS is the successor method for encryption.)

List Page SizeThe default page size can be added in the Manager console for all users (Default User Options) or for individual users (Users options).
This will control how many items are displayed in results lists in wMobile phone.

Custom Date Fields
• On editing field views with custom date fields, the current date was filling in. The date was getting saved in error. They are now blank, so user doesn’t update fields unintentionally.

What’s New in wMobile Desktop
• Added support for record deletion• Additions to template functionality to add C1 and C2 fields
and user variables• Addition of hyperlink functionality in Linked Docs tab• Added Fax field to Additional contacts tab with custom label, if
used in GoldMine.• Filters for Pending/History/Activity List tabs are now sticky• LastContOn not getting update on appointment completion
(only calls), also now showing specific time• Support for custom fields in Projects• Added option to format international phone format when
creating a new contact record.• Added Activity code in History Activity list

Support for Record DeletionIt has never been possible before to delete contacts in wMobile, but after a number of requests for this feature it has been added. In order for this to be available, several conditions must be met.
The setting must be enabled in the wMobile Manager Console System Settings under Configuration | Common | Contacts. Set AllowContactDeletion to True.
Users must have master rights in GoldMine and the Delete option must be checked in GoldMine user settings on the Access tab.
If all of these are true, then the user will be able to delete single contacts from the search center in wMobile Desktop.

Changes to Merge Templates
• The merge templates now allow addition of Contact1 and Contact2 fields.

• User variables can now also be added to templates.

User VariablesIn GoldMine, user variables are stored in the user.ini file in the GoldMine root directory. Many remote users don’t have access to these files and it’s not a very user-friendly method. We have added a way for users to enter these settings in the wMobile Desktop user options.
Select Tools | Options and then the Personal tab.
Select OK to save the updated settings.
These can also be added by an admin in the Manager Console in the Users Options.

Hyperlinks in Linked Docs
• GoldMine 2015.2 introduced the use of hyperlinks in Linked Documents, such as those stored on Dropbox, OneDrive etc. These are now supported in wMobile Desktop as well. Users can add and access hyperlinks.

Can ‘Apply to all users’ in wMobile Manager Console

• If this setting is blank, another option is to set it in the Manager Console, in Default Users Options (and Apply to all users) or in Users Options to set for an individual.

Filters are now ‘sticky’Filters are now ‘sticky’ under the Pending/History tabs and Activity Lists. This means that when you set a filter, they remain active when you browse to other records and even when you log out of wMobile.
This means you don’t need to keep setting the same filter repeatedly.
It also means you’ll need to Clear Filter when you want to see all activities again.
